Abstract
Ektoparasit pada ayam umumnya tidak menimbulkan kematian tetapi secara ekonomi dapat merugikan. Keberadaan ektoparasit pada tubuh hewan dapat menyebabkan kerugian yang sangat beragam. Mengenai penelitian ektoparasit tersebut, di daerah kabupaten Bandung sendiri belum ada, sehingga perlu dilakukan penelitian. Penelitian yang dilakukan bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi ektoparasit yang menginfeksi ayam ras di Desa Bojongsalam, Kecamatan Rancaekek, Kabupaten Bandung. Penelitian dilakukan pada bulan Maret sampai Mei 2013. Tahapan dalam penelitian ini meliputi pengambilan sampel ayam, pengambilan sampel ektoparasit, pengukuran kondisi lingkungan, pembuatan preparat ektoparasit, identifikasi ektoparasit, dan analisis data. Ayam yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu ayam pedaging dan ayam petelur di Desa Bojongsalam.Berdasarkan hasil penelitian yang dilakukan, hasil identifikasi menunjukkan adanya lima jenis ektoparasit yang ditemukan pada ayam ras jenis petelur. Kelima spesies ektoparasit tersebut adalah Lipeurus caponis, Menopon gallinae, Menacanthus stramineus, Goniocotes gallinae, dan Dermanyssus gallinae. Berdasarkan kelima spesies ektoparasit tersebut, Lipeurus caponis yang paling banyak ditemukan dengan presentase dominasi sebesar 63,6%, sedangkan ektoparasit yang paling sedikit ditemukan yaitu spesies Dermanyssus gallinae dengan presentase dominasi sebesar 0,26%. Berbeda dengan ayam petelur, pada ayam pedaging tidak ditemukan keberadaan ektoprasit. Hal tersebut berkaitan dengan sanitasi pada kandang serta keberadaan bulu pada ayam pedaging. The existence of ectoparasite in animal body can cause loss very diverse. In the region of Bandung regency own there has been no research on the ectoparasite so required a research. The aims of this research to identify ectoparasite that infects purebred chicken in the village of Bojongsalam, sub-district Rancaekek, Bandung regency. Research was conducted from March until May 2013. The scope of research were the measurement of environmental conditions, the sample chicken, the sample ectoparasite, making preparat ectoparasite, identification ectoparasite, and analysis of data. A chicken used in penilitian is broiler and chicken laying in the village of Bojongsalam. Based on the results of research conducted, the identification ectoparasite demonstrating an absence of five of a kind that was discovered in a chicken race of the laying. The fifth species ectoparasite was Lipeurus caponis, Menopon gallinae, Menacanthus stramineus, Goniocotes gallinae, and Dermanyssus gallinae. From the five species ectoparasite are found, Lipeurus caponis the most frequently found with the percentage domination of 63,6%, while ectoparasite the fewest found, that is of Dermanyssus gallinae with the percentage dominance of 0,26%. Different with chicken laying, in a broiler not found the existence of ectoprasite. It was related to the sanitary at home as well as the existence of bristles on broiler.
