Abstract
Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh adanya kesenjangan antara ketersediaan sumber informasi dengan kebutuhan informasi warga binaan Lembaga Pemasyarakatan Sukamiskin Kelas I Bandung. Kondisi tersebut tentunya bertolak belakang dengan perlunya kemampuan literasi informasi dengan ketersediaan sumber informasi untuk memenuhi kebutuhan informasi individu. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan hubungan antara kemampuan literasi informasi dengan kebutuhan informasi di Lembaga Pemasyarakat kelas I Sukamiskin Bandung, yang dilihat dari tahapan literasi informasi yaitu aiming, framing dan claiming juga pendekatan kebutuhan informasi meliputi current need approach, everyday need approach, exhaustic need approach dan catching-up need everyday. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode studi korelasional. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan dengan menggunakan teknik Random Sampling dengan sampel 79 responden. Kemudian teknik pengumpulan data dengan menggunakan angket tertutup. Analisis data menggunakan korelasi Sperman Rank Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa terdapat hubungan sangat kuat serta signifikan antara kemampuan literasi informasi dengan kebutuhan informasi. Hal ini dibuktikan dengan kemampuan literasi informasi dan kebutuhan informasi yang berkategori baik. Dengan kemampuan literasi informasi dan kebutuhan informasi baik menujukkan hubungan yang sangat kuat. Masyarakat binaan dan pengelola Lapas diharapkan mampu mengoptimalkan kembali sumber informasi serta kerjasama dengan lembaga lainnya.;---This research is motivated by the gap between the availability of information sources with the information needs of the society of prisoners sukamiskin bandung. The condition is certainly contrary to the need for information literacy capabilities with the availability of information resources to complete the information needs of a person. The purpose of this studies to describe the relationship between the ability of information literacy and information needs in prison sukamiskin bandung seen from the stage of information literacy namely aiming, framing, and claiming also approaches of information needs including current need approach everyday need approach, exhaustic need approach and catching-up need approach. this research uses a quantitative approach with correlational study method. Sampling was done by using Random Sampling technique with sample of 79 respondents. Then the data of collection technique is used closed questionnaire. TheData were analyzed by using Spearman Rank correlation The results showed that there is a very strong and significant relationship between the ability of information literacy and information needs. This is evidenced by the ability literacy information and information needs which are categorized well. With the ability literasi information and information needs both shows a very strong relationship. Prisoners communities and prison management are expected to be able to optimize the return of information sources and cooperation with other institutions.
