Abstract

Komunikasi merupakan prasyarat kehidupan interaksi manusia. Dua orang baru dikatakan melakukan interaksi komunikasi apabila masing-masing melakukan aksi dan reaksi. Pada 3 siswa deafblind-lowvision yang menjadi subyek penelitian, kondisi sensorik penglihatan, pendengaran dan wicara mengalami hambatan sekaligus sehingga berdampak pada kemampuan komunikasinya. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengembangkan kemampuan komunikasi subyek penelitian, mengetahui kondisi obyektif sensorik siswa, serta menyusun program pengembangan komunikasi siswa Deafblind-lowvision. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah mix methods peneliti mengumpulkan data kualitatif, baru kemudian mengumpulkan data kuantitatif. Adapun temuan yang diujikan pada tiga subyek penelitian diketahui pada subyek penelitian adalah siswa mengalami hambatan penglihatan, pendengaran dan wicara dalam pembelajarannya memerlukan media pembelajaran, diantaranya foto. Berdasarkan uji efektivitas pembelaaran menggunakan foto dapat meningkatkan kemampuan komunikasi dari level komunikasi presymbolic ke komunikasi symbol konkrit.;---Communication is a prerequisite of life in interaction of human beings. Two persons are said to make communication interaction when each of them show action and reaction. In 3 deafblind-lowvision students as the subjects of study, the vision, auditory, and speech sensory conditions have simultaneous obstacles and, thus, impact on their capabilities to communicate. The purposes of this study are to develop the capabilities of subjects in communication, to know objective sensory conditions of students, and to set deafblind-lowvision student communication developmental programs. This study was conducted by using mix methods by which researcher gather qualitative data, and, subsequently, quantitative data. Findings examined in three subjects of study showed that those students have vision, auditory, and speech obstacles in their learning and, therefore, the learning media, the photograph, is necessary. Based on the effectiveness test of learning by using photograph, the capability to communicate may be improved from Pre Symbulic communication level to concrete symbolic communication levels.
