Abstract
SMK bidang keahlian teknologi dan rekayasa adalah SMK dengan mayoritas siswa laki-laki. Hal ini menyebabkan berkembangnya isu-isu gender dalam pendidikan di SMK. Pemikiran stereotip mengenai bidang keahlian tersebut berkembang di masyarakat. Tujuan dalam penelitian ini adalah (1) Untuk meneliti pandangan guru SMK tentang gender dalam pendidikan di SMK; (2) Untuk meneliti perlakuan guru kepada siswa laki-kaki dan perempuan selama proses pembelajaran di kelas; (3) Untuk meneliti interaksi antara siswa laki-laki dan perempuan serta interaksi antara siswa dan guru berdasarkan gender. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian mixed method, yaitu kombinasi antara metode kualitatif dan kuantitatif. Data dari penelitian ini berasal SMKN 1 Karimun. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan kuesioner, wawancara dan observasi. Kuesioner dibagikan kepada guru, siswa laki-laki dan siswa perempuan. Wawancara dilakukan kepada guru dan siswa perempuan. Kuesioner yang diberikan kepada guru berdasarkan tujuan penelitian. Tiap tujuan penelitian terdiri dari tiga indikator. Ketiga indikator tersebut adalah kesetaraan dalam akses, kesetaraan dalam proses pembelajaran dan kesetaraan dalam hasil pendidikan. Analisis gender yang digunakan untuk melihat isu gender dalam pendidikan di SMK adalah gabungan antara Gender Analysis Pathway (GAP) dan The Harvard Framework. Pemikiran stereotip masih berkembang di antara guru di SMK. Hal ini menyebabkan beberapa orang guru memberikan perlakuan yang berbeda kepada siswa laki-laki dan perempuan. Siswa perempuan mendapatkan perlakuan yang berbeda untuk mendapatkan pembelajaran di kelas. Hal ini menyebabkan siswa perempuan merasa dirugikan. ---- SMK with technology and engineering expertise is SMK that have majority of male students. This cause evolve gender issues in education at SMK. Stereotype thinking about technology and engineering expertise evolve at society. The aims of this research are (1) To research teacher’s thought about gender in education; (2) To investigate treatment of teachers to male and female students during learning process in the classroom; (3) To investigate interaction between male and female student, also interaction between student and teacher based of gender. This research is a mixed method research, which is a combination of qualitative and quantitative methods. Data from this research comes from SMKN 1 Karimun. Data collection techniques used questionnaires, interviews and observations. Questionnaires were distributed to teacher, male and female student. Interviews were conducted to teachers and female students. Questionnaires given to teachers based on research objectives. Each research objective consists of three indicators. These three indicators are equality in access, equality in the learning process and equality in educational outcomes. The gender analysis used to look at gender issues in education at SMK is a combination of Gender Analysis Pathway (GAP) and The Harvard Framework. Stereotyped thinking is still evolve among teachers in SMK. This causes some teachers to give different treatment to male and female students. Female students get different treatment to get learning in the classroom. This causes female students to feel disadvantaged.
