Abstract

Kemampuan berpikir kritis merupakan kemampuan yang harus dimiliki peserta didik. Salah satu tipe pembelajaran yang dapat digunakan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis peserta didik adalah Think-Pair-Share (TPS) yang memiliki empat tahapan, yaitu tahap pemberian masalah oleh guru, tahap think (berpikir), tahap pair (berpasangan) dan tahap share (berbagi). Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Think-Pair-Share (TPS) terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis yang terdiri dari lima indikator, yaitu kemampuan mendefinisikan masalah, kemampuan menyeleksi informasi untuk pemecahan masalah, kemampuan mengenali asumsi-asumsi, kemampuan merumuskan hipotesis serta kemampuan menarik kesimpulan. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode Quasy Experiment dengan desain Nonequivalent Control Group Design. Subjek penelitian ini adalah peserta didik kelas XI IPS 5 sebagai kelas eksperimen dan kelas XI IPS 4 sebagai kelas kontrol. Instrumen penelitian yang digunakan adalah tes yang berupa pre-test dan post-test. Teknik analisis data menggunakan statistik, yaitu uji normalitas, uji homogenitas, dan uji hipotesis. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan pada: 1) kemampuan berpikir kritis peserta didik kelas eksperimen antara sebelum dan setelah pembelajaran yang menggunakan tipe pembelajaran Think-Pair-Share (TPS), 2) kemampuan berpikir kritis peserta didik kelas kontrol antara sebelum dan setelah pembelajaran yang tidak menggunakan tipe pembelajaran Think-Pair-Share (TPS), dan 3) kemampuan berpikir kritis pada kelas eksperimen yang menggunakan tipe pembelajaran Think-Pair-Share (TPS) dan kelas kontrol yang tidak menggunakan tipe pembelajaran Think-Pair-Share (TPS). Dengan demikian, maka tipe pembelajaran Think-Pair-Share (TPS) berpengaruh terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis peserta didik.;---Skills of critical thinking is a must-have skill for students. One of a learning type that could applied to improve skill of critical thinking is Think-Pair-Share (TPS) which have four step, giving out a problem, think, pair, and share. This research could be subjected to uncover the effect of Think-Pair-Share (TPS) type for skilss of critical thinking which based on indicators such skills of defining problem, skill of selecting informasi for problem solving, skills of identifying asumptions, skills of formulating hypothesis and skills of draw a conclusion. The method used in this research is Quasy Experiment with Nonequivalent Control Group Design.The subjects for this research were students of XI IPS 5 as an experiment class and XI IPS as a control class. Instruments used for this research is tests, i.e pre-test and post-test. Data were analyzed using statistics, such as normality test, homogenity test, and the test of hypothesis. The result showed that there is difference in: 1) skills of critical thinking of class experimental’s students between before and after learning process with Think-Pair-Share (TPS) type applied, 2)skills of critical thinking of class control’s students between before and after learning process with Think-Pair-Share (TPS) type not applied, and 3) skills of critical thinking of class experimental’s with Think-Pair-Share (TPS) type applied and class control’s students which Think-Pair-Share (TPS) type not apllied. Therefore, the Think-Pair-Share (TPS) type has an effect on skills of critical thinking to students.
