Abstract
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui seberapa besar pengaruh latihan senam mulut untuk meningkatkan kemampuan mengucap konsonan M pada subyek yang berinisial F dengan hambatan pendengaran.. Subyek seringkali salah ketika mengucapkan konsonan (m) menjadi (mb), bahkan terkadang subyek mengucapkannya menjadi (b atau p). Oleh karena itu peneliti menerapkan latihan senam mulut untuk membantu subyek meningkatkan kemampuan pengucapan konsonan bilabial (m). Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah eksperimen Single Subject Research (SSR). Adapun pendekatan yang digunakan adalah kuantitatif dengan desain A-B-A. Berdasarkan penelitian terhadap subyek berinisial F ini, diperoleh hasil berupa mean level sebesar 55,75% pada baseline-1, mean level subyek meningkat menjadi 76,74% ketika diberikan intervensi, dan kembali meningkat menjadi 87,85% setelah intervensi selesai diberikan. Berdasarkan hasil yang diperoleh selama penelitian penerapan latihan senam mulut untuk meningkatkan kemampuan mengucap konsonan (m) pada subyek F dapat disimpulkan bahwa dengan diterapkannya latihan senam mulut dapat meningkatkan kemampuan mengucapkan konsonan (m) pada awal, sisipan dan akhiran kata benda. Hal tersebut dibuktikan dengan adanya peningkatan kemampuan mengucap konsonan (m) pada awal kata seperti mata, madu, meja, mawar, mobil, motor, pada sisipan kata benda seperti bambu, lampu, cumi, kambing, ember, bumi dan pada akhiran kata seperti kata jam, bom, lem, garam, ayam, asam. Dari hasil penelitian ini, peneliti merekomendasikan agar latihan senam mulut dapat digunakan sebagai salah satu metode pembelajaran artikulasi di kelas. ;--- This study aims to determine the effect of oral exercises to improve the ability to pronounce consonant M on subjects whom F initials with hearing impairment. The subjects are often wrong when pronouncing consonant (m) into (mb), even sometimes the subjects pronounce them into (b or p). Therefore,the researcher applied oral exercises to help the subjects improving bilabial consonant pronunciation (m). The method that is used in this research is Single Subject Research (SSR) experiment. The approach that is used is in this research is quantitative with A-B-A design. Based on the research on the subject with F initial, the results obtained mean 55.75% level on baseline-1, mean on the subject level increased to 76.74% when it is given an intervention, and again, it is increased to 87.85% after the intervention was completed. Based on the results that is obtained during the research, the oral exercise in improving the ability of the consonant (m) in the subject F, it can be concluded that by exercising the oral exercises can improve the ability to pronounce consonants (m) at the beginning, affix and ending of a noun. This is proven by the increase in the ability to say consonant (m) at the beginning of words such as mata, madu, meja, mawar, mobil, motor, at the affix of words such as bambu, lampu, cumi, kambing, ember, bumi and at the ending of words such as jam, bom, lem, garam, ayam, asam. From the results of this study, the researcher recommend that oral exercises can be used as a method of articulation learning in classroom.
