Abstract

Rendahnya kemampuan siswa dalam memahami suatu konsep geografi mengakibatkan rendahnya pemahaman peserta didik dan berdampak pada hasil belajar. Penelitian ini memanfaatkan lingkungan sebagai sumber belajar melalui pemanfaatan Taman Wisata Alam Puntikayu Palembang. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis Penggunaan Metode Outdoor Study Taman Wisata Alam (TWA) Puntikayu Palembang Terhadap Pemahaman Pelestarian Lingkungan Hidup Peserta Didik. Metode yang digunakan adalah Quasi Experimental Design dengan desain eksperimen Non-Equivalent Pretest-Posttest Design. Penelitian dilakukan pada 2 SMA yaitu SMA Arinda Palembang dan SMAN 9 Palembang di kelas XI Ilmu Pengetahuan Sosial dengan menggunakan metode Outdoor Study dan metode Picture and Picture. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan peningkatan pemahaman pelestarian lingkungan hidup peserta didik dengan menggunakan metode Outdoor Study dan metode Picture and Picture. Metode Outdoor Study lebih efektif dibandingkan dengan metode Picture and Picture untuk meningkatkan pemahaman pelestarian lingkungan hidup peserta didik. Implikasinya adalah pelestarian lingkungan hidup peserta didik dapat ditingkatkan melalui penerapan metode Outdoor Study dan metode Picture and Picture.---- Low ability of students in comprehension a geography concept resulted in low comprehension of learners and impact on learning outcomes. This research utilizes the environment as a source of learning through the utilization of the Puntikayu Palembang nature park. The purpose of this research was to analysed the implementation Outdoor Study method in Puntikayu Palembang nature park for the comprehension student`s preservation of the living environment. The method used was Quasi-Experimental Design with Non-Equivalent experimental design pretest-posttest design. This research was conducted at 2 SMA is SMA Arinda Palembang and SMAN 9 Palembang on a class XI Social Sciences with using the Outdoor Study method and picture and picture method. The results revealed that there were differences in improvement of student's comprehension preservation of the living environment between the outdoor study method and picture and picture method. In order to improve student's comprehension preservation of the living environment, outdoor study method is more effective than Picture and picture method. The implication is that students' comprehension preservation of the living environment could be improved through the application of outdoor study method and Picture and picture.
