Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatar belakangi oleh rendahnya siswa dalam melakukan aktivitas belajar, karena terdapat delapan siswa yang mendominasi pembelajaran, bekerja dalam kelompok didominasi oleh siswa yang aktif, kelalaian dalam mengerjakan tugas, tidak ada siswa yang bertanya terkait materi pembelajaran, dalam mengemukakan pendapat didominasi oleh siswa yang aktif. Maka, pada saat observasi (pra-penelitian), rata-rata aktivitas belajar siswa hanya 46% yang mengarah kepada pembelajaran. Hal ini bertolak belakang dengan pembelajaran modern, dimana siswa harus aktif dalam pembelajaran dengan melakukan berbagai aktivitas belajar yang tentunya terarah kepada pembelajaran. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan penerapan model kooperatif tipe teams games tournament (TGT) dalam meningkatkan aktivitas belajar siswa, dengan aktivitas belajar yang diamati adalah aktivitas visual, aktivitas lisan, aktivitas mendengarkan, aktivitas menulis, dan aktivitas mental. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian tindakan kelas model Kemmis dan MC. Taggart dilaksanakan dalam dua siklus. Subjek penelitian terdiri dari 32 siswa kelas III SD. Instrumen penelitian yang digunakan adalah lembar observasi, catatan lapangan, tes, dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan aktivitas belajar siswa meningkat dari 73% pada siklus I menjadi 93% pada siklus II. Dengan demikian, model TGT cocok digunakan untuk meningkatkan aktivitas belajar siswa. ;---This research is motivated by the low students in learning activities, because only eight students who dominate learning, work in groups dominated by active students, negligence in the task, no students ask questions related to learning materials, in expressing the opinion dominated by active students. Then when the observation (pre-research), the average learning activity of students only 46% category is quite active diricted to learning. This is in contrast to the modern learning, which students must be active in learning by doing various learning activities that are directed to the learning process. This research is aimed to describe the application of cooperative model of Teams Games Tournament (TGT) type to improve the students learning activity, with observed student learning activity in visual activities, oral activities, listening activities, writing activities, and mental activities. The research method used is class action of Kemmis and MC. Taggart model which implemented in two cycles. The subjects consisted of 32 third graders of elementary school. The research instruments used are observation sheet, field note, test, and documentation. The result of this research showed that students' learning activity increased from 73% active category in cycle I to 93% category is very active in cycle II. Thus, model TGT are suitable to improve students learning activities.
