    Abstract

    Starting a business is an initial effort in a particular field in accordingly with the ability of a person who wishes to become an entrepreneur by looking at the market conditions. Tie dye t-shirt as one of handicrafts which is very demanded by teenager consumers becomes one opportunities to start a business. This study investigates the benefits of learning crafts and entrepreneurship to provide an opportunity in commencing a business. The aim of this study is to obtain data on the benefits of learning outcomes in terms of competence mastery related to tie dye concepts including: definition, history and characteristics, motif design, binding techniques, skills in producing tie dye t-shirt. This study employed descriptive method by using questionnaire as a research instruments. Sampling was done randomly by involving 78 students from MAN 1 Kota Bandung grade XI which have enrolled Crafts and Entrepreneurship, especially to the topic of tie dye t-shirt. The results of this study showed that more than half of the students knew the benefits of learning Crafts and Entrepreneurships as the commencing effort of tie dye t-shirt, with the numbers related to the coloring (73.07%), motive design function (70.51%), and binding process (69.23%). -----
    Merintis usaha merupakan awal terbentuknya suatu usaha pada bidang tertentu sesuai dengan kemampuan seorang yang berkeinginan untuk menjadi wirausaha dengan melihat kondisi pasar. Tie dye t-shirt merupakan salah satu kerajinan tangan yang sedang diminati oleh konsumen remaja yang bisa dijadikan peluang dalam merintis usaha. Penelitian ini mengkaji manfaat hasil belajar Prakarya dan Kewirausahaan sebagai kesiapan merintis usaha Tie Dye T-shirt. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk memperoleh data manfaat hasil belajar Prakarya dan Kewirausahaan ditinjau dari kompetensi penguasaan pengetahuan konsep tie dye: pengertian, sejarah dan karakteristik, desain motif tie dye, teknik pengikatan tie dye, teknik pewarnaan tie dye, dan keterampilan pembuatan tie dte t-shirt. Metode yang digunakan pada penelitian ini ialah metode deskriptif dengan menggunakan alat pengumpulan data berupa kuesioner. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan secara acak sebanyak 78 responden yang terdiri dari peserta didik MAN 1 Kota Bandung kelas XI yang telah mengikuti mata pelajaran Prakarya dan Kewirausahaan mengenai tie dye t-shirt. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa lebih dari setengahnya peserta didik mengetahui manfaat hasil belajar prakarya dan kewirausahaan sebagai kesiapan merintis usaha tie dye t-shirt berkaitan dengan proses pewarnaan tie dye (73,07%), fungsi desain motif tie dye (70,51%), dan hasil pengikatan tie dye (69,23%).
