Abstract

Penelitian ini dilakukan di Dinas Pendidikan Kota Bandung. Permasalahan yang menjadi kajian dalam penelitian ini ialah belum optimalnya efektivitas kerja pegawai di Dinas Pendidikan Kota Bandung. Hal ini dibuktikan dengan hasil evaluasi tahunan mengenai capaian kerja pegawai saat ini umumnya kinerja para pegawai di Dinas Pendidikan Kota Bandung masih belum sesuai dengan target. Tata ruang kantor merupakan faktor yang diduga memiliki pengaruh terhadap efektivitas kerja pegawai. Oleh karena itu penelitian ini mengkaji pengaruh tata ruang kantor (X) terhadap efektivitas kerja pegawai (Y). Penelitian ini menggunakan metode survey dengan teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan angket. Responden adalah para pegawai Dinas Pendidikan Kota Bandung sebanyak 62 orang. Teknik analisis data menggunakan analisis regresi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: (1) kondisi tata ruang kantor di Dinas Pendidikan Kota Bandung dipersepsi sudah baik oleh para pegawai, (2) tingkat efektivitas kerja pegawai di Dinas Pendidikan Kota Bandung dipersepsi sudah cukup baik oleh para pegawai, (3) hasil analisis regresi menunjukkan bahwa tata ruang kantor mempunyai pengaruh positif terhadap efektivitas kerja pegawai. Oleh karena itu, efektivitas kerja pegawai tidak hanya dipengaruhi oleh tata ruang kantor, terdapat faktor lain yang juga berpengaruh namun tidak diteliti. ;--- This research was conducted at Dinas Pendidikan Kota Bandung. The problem studied in this research was the effectiveness of employee’s performance in Bandung Education Department which is not optimal. This was proofed by the results of the annual evaluation of employee performance in their job that generally the performance of employees in Dinas Pendidikan Kota Bandung was still not in accordance with the target. Office layout was a factor that is suspected to have an effect on the effectiveness of employees. Therefore, this study examined the effect of office layout (X) on the effectiveness of employee’s performance (Y). The method used in this research was survey method with data collection technique by using questionnaire. Respondents were the employees of Dinas Pendidikan Kota Bandung as many as 62 people. Data were analyzed by using regression analysis. The result of the research showed that: (1) the condition of office layout in Dinas Pendidikan Kota Bandung has been perceived well by the employees, (2) the effectiveness level of employee in Dinas Pendidikan Kota Bandung has been perceived good enough by the employees, (3) the result of regression analysis showed that the office layout has a positive effect on employee effectiveness. Therefore, the effectiveness of employees is not only affected by the layout of the office, there are other factors that are also influential but not examined.
