Abstract

Ciplukan (Physalis angulata L.; Solanaceae) memiliki kesamaan karakter sifat kimiawi sebagai Ashwaganda, dimana Ashwaganda ini merupakan tanaman obat penting yang dapat membunuh kanker, hal ini dikenal sebagai sifat anti-proliferatif. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pemberian pengaruh ekstrak daun tanaman ciplukan pada bobot testis, perubahan ukuran diameter sel tubulus seminiferus, dan perubahan ukuran ketebalan sel germinal serta peningkatan pada abnormalitas sperma dan penurunan jumlah sperma. 24 ekor mencit jantan dibagi ke dalam 4 kelompok yaitu kelompok kontrol (0mg/kg BB), dosis rendah (250mg/kg BB), kelompok dosis sedang (300mg/kg BB) dan kelompok dosis tinggi (350mg/kg BB) dimana pemberian perlakuan diberikan selama 30 hari secara oral menggunakan sonde lambung. Analisis data diuji dengan menggunakan uji statistik One Way ANOVA, dan dilanjutkan uji Tukey HSD. Hasil penelitian menunjukan penurunan secara signifikan (p<0,05) pada bobot testis, perubahan ukuran diameter sel tubulus seminiferus, dan perubahan ukuran ketebalan sel germinal serta peningkatan pada abnormalitas sperma dan penurunan jumlah sperma secara tidak sginifikan. Berdasarkan hasil tersebut, dosis 350mg/kg BB merupakan dosis yang paling memengaruhi kualitas spermatozoa secara nyata dengan perbedaan yang paling bermakna. Penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa ekstrak daun Ciplukan (Physalis angulata L.) memiliki aktivitas anti-fertilitas dan dapat digunakan sebagai alternatif untuk bahan pengendali jumlah populasi, khususnya pada mamalia. ;---Ciplukan (Physalis angulata L.; Solanaceae) has the same character of the chemical properties as Ashwaganda, which Ashwaganda is an important medicinal plant that can kill cancer. It is subjected to have chemical compounds with antiproliferative properties. This study investigated the effect of aqueous extract of Ciplukan leaves on sperm quality of healthy male Balb/C mice which is included the weight of testes, sperm count, diameter of seminiferous tubules, size of germ cell thickness, sperm motility and abnormalities. A total of 24 mice were divided into 4 groups of 6 animals each. Animals in group 1 was served as a control, while those in groups 2, 3, and 4 were orally administered 250 mg/kg/d, 300 mg/kg/d, and 350 mg/kg/d of Ciplukan leaf extract (CLE) respectively for 30 days. Data analysis was tested using One Way ANOVA statistic test, and continued Tukey HSD test. The results showed a significant reduction in the weight of testes, the diameter of seminiferous tubules, and the thickness of germ cell (p<0.05). Although there is an increase in abnormal cells and decrease of the sperm count, those changes were statistically not significant. Based on these results, the dose of 350mg / kg BB is the dose that most significantly affects the quality of spermatozoa with the most significant differences. However, this research show that extraxt of ciplukan’s leaf has anti-fertility activity and can be applied to control population, especially for mamalian.
