Abstract
Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi rendahnya kemampuan memecahkan masalah siswa dalam pembelajaran PPKn. Secara umum penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui penerapan Problem Based Learning untuk mengembangkan kemampuan peserta didik dalam memecahkan masalah. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan campuran dengan metode penelitian tindakan kelas terhadap beberapa subjek penelitian diantaranya guru PPKn kelas VIII-I SMPN 5 Bandung dan siswa kelas VIII-I. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan cara observasi, wawancara, dokumentasi, tes performance, dan tes essay. Selanjutnya dilakukan analisis data dengan menggunakan reduksi data, penyajian data, triangulasi dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa; (1) Perencanaan pembelajaran PPKn berpengaruh terhadap keberhasilan penerapan problem based learning untuk meningkatkan kemampuan memecahkan masalah; (2) Pelaksanaan pembelajaran PPKn dengan menerapkan problem based learning mengelami peningkatan setiap siklusnya; (3) Terjadi peningkatan kemampuan memecahkan masalah peserta didik setelah diterapkan problem based learning pada setiap siklusnya.; (4) Kendala disebabkan oleh peserta didik masih kebingungan dan kesulitan dalam menganalisis isu dan malu untuk berpendapat, waktu yang disediakan dalam pembelajaran PPKn dirasa kurang memadai sehingga pelaksanaan pembelajaran kurang maksimal, dan isi pendapat peserta didik masih kurang tepat dalam mengaitkan isu dengan materi yang telah dibahas. -------- This research is based on the low ability to solve student problems in learning PPKn. In general, this study aims to determine the implementation of Problem Based Learning to develop the ability of learners in solving problems. This study used a mixed approach with classroom action research methods on several research subjects such as teachers PPKn class VIII-I SMPN 5 Bandung and students of class VIII-I. Data collection is done by observation, interview, documentation, performance test, and essay test. Further data analysis is done by using data reduction, data presentation, triangulation and conclusion. The results of this study indicate that; (1) Learning planning of PPKn influenced the successful implementation of problem based learning to improve problem solving ability; (2) Implementation of PPKn by applying problem based learning to cultivate improvement of each cycle; (3) There is improvement of problem solving ability of learners after applied problem based learning in each cycle; (4) Obstacles caused by learners still confused and difficulties in analyzing the issues and embarrassment to argue, the time provided in learning PPKn is considered inadequate so that less maximal learning implementation, and the contents of the opinions of learners is still less precise in linking issues with the material already discussed.
