Abstract

Laporan yang sering muncul kepada pihak sekolah terutama kepada guru Bimbingan dan Konseling (BK) cukup menyita perhatian. Pasalnya masalah ini selalu terjadi setiap tahun di sekolah berasrama. Wali asrama menjadi masalah pertama yang diadukan oleh pihak siswa. Selain karena karakter dan kepribadian wali asrama yang tidak cocok, sikap dan perilaku kepada siswa pun menjadi masalah. Padahal, wali asrama adalah orang pertama pengganti orang tua kandung bagi para siswa yang memutuskan untuk bersekolah di sekolah berasrama. Ketika wali asrama sudah tidak dipercaya atau tidak disukai, maka kegagalan komunikasi akan terjadi kedua belah pihak. Hal ini terjadi atas dasar model peranan yang tidak sesuai dengan ekspektasi dan konflik yang mengakibatkan komunikasi interpersonal tidak berjalan dengan baik. Penelitian dilakukan di sekolah berasrama SMP Terpadu Baiturrahman Bandung dengan partisipan penelitian wali asrama dan siswi kelas 9. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mendeskripsikan lima aspek komunikasi interpersonal secara umum, serta komunikasi interpersonal sebagai upaya pemecahan konflik pada wali asrama dan siswi. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah studi kasus dengan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ekspektasi peranan dan pemecahan konflik antara wali asrama dengan siswi tidak mengindikasikan adanya fungsi komunikasi interpersonal. Konflik yang terjadi di antara wali asrama dan siswi termasuk dalam kategori konflik semu, konflik fakta dan konflik nilai.---------- Reports that often appear to the school, especially to Guidance and Counseling’s teacher is quite getting attention. This problem always happens every year at boarding school. Head of house became the first problem the students complained about. Besides of the character and personality of unsuitable attitudes, head of house’s behaviors to students also become a problem. In fact, head of house is the first person to substitute biological parents for students who decide to go to boarding school. When the head of house is not trusted or disliked, then communication failure will happen. This problem occured on the basis of role models that are not in line with expectations and conflicts that resulted interpersonal communication is not working properly. The study was conducted in a Baiturrahman Integrated Boarding School , with the main participants are head of media and student of 9th grader. The purpose of this study to describe five aspects of the interpersonal communication in general, as well as interpersonal communication in an effort to the conflict resolution with the students. This research uses qualitative descriptive method with case study method. The results showed that the role expectation and conflict resolution between head of house and student does not indicate the function of interpersonal communication. Conflicts that occured between head of house and students are included in pseudo conflict, conflict of facts and value conflicts.
