Abstract
Science, Technology, Engineering, dan Mathematics (STEM) merupakan salah satu bentuk reformasi pendidikan yang digunakan untuk meningkatkan berbagai keterampilan yang dibutuhkan untuk menghadapi tantangan abad ke-21. Kemudian NRC (National Research Council) mengeluarkan standar yang baru yang disebut NGSS (Next Generation Science Standards). Di dalam NGSS terdapat beberapadimensi salahsatunyaya itu prakti krekayasa. Kemudian NRC sebagai pembuat NGSS berpendapat bahwa proses kreatif dapat membantu siswa mengembangkan desain baru untuk memecahkan masalah sebagai dasar dari rekayasa. Makadari itu peneliti melakukan suatu penelitian yang berjudul pengaruh pembelajaran IPA berbasis STEM terhadap keterampilan rekayasadan keterampilan berpikir kreatif. Tujuan dari penelitian ini yaitu untuk mengetahui adanya pengaruh pembelajaran STEM terhadap keterampilan rekayasa dan keterampilan berpikir kreatif siswa SMP pada materi pencemaran lingkungan. Desain penelitian yang digunakan adalah non equivalent control group pretest - posttest design. Sampel pada penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VII MTs Al-Fatah yang ditentukan dengan teknik purposive sampling. Hasil penghitungan uji dua rerata pada nilai keterampilan rekayasa dan nilai posttest keterampilan berpikir kreatif menunjukkan angka (2-tailed = 0 dan 0,001) < α (0,05) yang berarti bahwa pembelajaran IPA berbasis STEM memiliki pengaruh terhadap keterampilan rekayasa dan keterampilan berpikir kreatif siswa. ------------------ Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) is one of the educational reform that was used to improve a variety of skills which required to face the 21st-century challenges. Then the NRC (national research council) issued a new standard called NGSS (next generation science standards). In NGSS, there are several dimensions, one of them is engineering practices. Then NRC as an NGSS maker argues that the creative process can help students to develop a new design to solve the problems as the vital element of engineering. Therefore, the researcher conducted a study entitled the influence of science STEM-based learning to engineering skill and creative thinking skill in junior high school students. The aim of this research is to see the effect of science STEM-based learning to engineering skill and creative thinking skill in junior high school students in environmental pollution concept. The research design used was nonequivalent control group pretest - posttest design. The sample in this research was VII grade students at MTs Al-Fatah which was determined by purposive sampling technique. The result of the two-t test on the engineering skill value and posttest value of creative thinking skill shows the number (2-tailed = 0 and 0,001) < α (0,05), which means that science STEM-based learning lead an influence to students engineering skill and creative thinking skill.
