Abstract

Anak down syndrome seringkali mengalami keterlambatan dalam perkembangan bahasa sebagai dampak dari hambatan intelektual yang di bawah rata rata. Lingkungan keluarga merupkan lingkungan utama yang penting dalam mengembangkan bahasa anak down syndrome karena di lingkungan tersebut anak down syndrome tumbuh dan berkembang. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah mengembangkan program intervensi dini berbasis keluarga dalam mengembangkan bahasa anak down Syndrome. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di latarbelakangi oleh minimnya pemahaman keluarga dalam upaya memberikan intervensi untuk mengembangkan bahasa anak down syndrome sejak dini. Penelitian ini merujuk pada penelitian R&D, tetapi dalam pelaksanaannya dilakukan modifikasi agar sesuai dengan masalah dan problematika yang akan diteliti. Modifikasi yang dilakukan yaitu dengan melaksanakan 3 tahap penelitian yaitu pada tahap pertama merupakan studi pendahuluan, tahap kedua pengembangan program intervensi dini berbasis keluarga dalam mengembangkan bahasa anak down syndrome dan tahap ke tiga merupakan tahap pelaksanaan program intervensi dini berbasis keluarga dalam mengembangkan bahasa anak down syndrome. Hasil dari penelitian ini menyatakan bahwa program intervensi dini berbasis keluarga dapat digunakan oleh keluarga dalam mengembangkan bahasa anak down syndrome serta terjadinya perubahan pada Family Quality of Life (FQOL) yang memiliki anak down syndrome dan berkembangan bahasa anak down syndrome. Kata kunci: Pogram intervensi dini berbasis keluarga, Anak Down Syndrome, Perkembangan bahasa, Children with down syndrome often experience retardation in language development caused by under-average intellectual barriers.Since family as the main environment where children with down syndrome live, grow and develop, the family atmosphere plays fundamental roles in their language development. This study aims to develop early family-based intervention programs to evolve language of children with down syndrome. This study was conducted grounded on the lack of family understanding of effort to early take roles (do intervention) in developing the language of children with down syndrome. This study refers to research and development (R&D) design whereas in terms of implementation, this study did a modification to bring it into line with the problems and difficulties of the object that would be studied. The modification was done through three stages namely preliminary study, the development of early family-based intervention program in developing language of children withdown syndrome and the implementation of family-based early intervention program in developing the language of children with down syndrome. This study reveals that family-based early intervention programs can be employed by families to develop language of children with down syndrome as well as changes in Family Quality of Life (FQOL) with down syndrome children and language development of Down syndrome children.
