Abstract

Penelitian dilatarbelakangi oleh fenomena SBMPTN yang setiap tahunnya hanya meloloskan satu perenam dari jumlah peserta yang mendaftar. Artinya, fenomena SBMPTN didominasi oleh mereka yang mengalami kegagalan. Penelitian bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan profil adversity quotient peserta yang gagal dalam SBMPTN sebagai dasar untuk mengembangkan layanan bimbingan dan konseling di sekolah. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode deskriptif. Partisipan berjumlah 120 orang Alumni SMA/MA AngkatanTahun 2016 yang terdiri dari 83 perempuan dan 37 laki-laki. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah instrumen adversity quotient. Analisis data dikelompokkan kedalam tiga kategori yaitu tinggi (climbers), sedang (campers) dan rendah (quitters). Temuan penelitian menunjukkan profi ladversity quotient peserta yang gagal dalam SBMPTN berada pada kategori sedang (campers) dan tidak ditemukan perbedaan yang signifikan profil adversity quotient berdasarkan jenis kelamin. Implikasi penelitian profil adversity quotient peserta yang gagal dalam SBMPTN pada bimbingan dan konseling adalah dengan diberikannya bimbingan pribadi dan layanan berupa upaya-upaya preventif pada peserta didik kelas XII agar memiliki kompetensi dalam menerima dirinya saat mengalami kegagalan serta mampu bangkit dari kegagalan tersebut, sehingga peserta didik mampu melakukan aktualisasi diri sesuai dengan potensinya secara optimal Kata kunci: adversity quotient, gagal, SBMPTN, bimbingandankonseling, The research is motivated by SBMPTN phenomenon which annually only passes one fifth of the number of participants who register. That mean SBMPTN phenomenon is dominated by those who have experienced failure. This study aims to describe adversity quotient of failing participants in SBMPTN as a basis for developing guidance and counseling services in senior high school. The research used quantitative approach with descriptive method. Participants amounted to 120 Alumni SMA / MA Year 2016 consisting of 83 women and 37 men. The instrument used is an adversity quotient instrument developed from Stoltz. Data analysis is grouped into three categories: high (climbers), moderate (campers) and low (quitters). The findings of the study showed that adversity quotient profiles of participants who failed in SBMPTN were in the middle category (campers) and found no significant difference in adversity quotient profile based on gender. The implication of adversity quotient profile of participants who failed in SBMPTN on guidance and counseling is by giving personal guidance in the form of preventive efforts for class XII students to have competence in accepting themselves when experiencing failure and able to rise from the failure so that learners are able to do self actualization in accordance with its potential optimally, Keywords: adversity quotient, fail, SBMPTN, guidance and counseling,
