Abstract

Locus of control merupakan cara pandang seseorang mengenai penyebab suatu peristiwa yang terjadi dalam kehidupannya. Locus of control terdiri dari dua dimensi yaitu, internal dan eksternal. Penelitian ini didasari oleh suatu fenomena bahwa mahasiswa bidik misi cenderung bekerja keras untuk menyelesaikan tugas tepat waktu, selain itu didapatkan mahasiswa semester II dan IV mencontek ketika ujian dan melakukan penundaan pengerjaan tugas sampai waktu batas akhir pengumpulan. Hal ini menyebabkan peneliti tertarik untuk menelitimengenai locus of control mahasiswa berdasarkan status sosial ekonomi orang tua. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah memperoleh data empirik mengenai gambaran umum locus of control dan perbedaan locus of control berdasarkan status sosial ekonomi orang tua pada mahasiswa Departemen Psikologi Pendidikan dan Bimbingan Tahun Akademik 2016/2017. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode deskriptif dan desain komparatif. Temuan penelitian menunjukan 1) secara umum mahasiswa semester II dan IV Departemen Psikologi Pendidikan dan Bimbingan Tahun Akademik 2016/2017 memiliki kecenderungan locus of control internal, 2) tidak ada perbedaan yang signifikan locus of control antara mahasiswa yang berstatus sosial ekonomi bawah, menengah dan atas, Kata Kunci: Locus of Control, Locus of Control is a person perspective about the cause of an event that occurred in his life. Locus of Control Consists of two dimensions, internal and external. The study is based on a phenomenon that college students bidikmisi tend to work hard to accomplish the task on time, in addition to a graduate student I and II cheating when the exam and undertake a deferment of work until the final deadline for collection. This causes to researchers interested in researching about the locus of control students based on the social economy status of parents. The purpose of this research is acquiring data empirical of the general locus of control and the difference locus of control based on social economy parents on students the Department of Psychology Education and Guidance in academic year 2016/2017. The study with quantitative method descriptive and design comparative. The findings of students show 1), in general students the level I and II of Department of Psychology Education and Guidance in academic year 2016/2017 have a tendency the locus of control internal, 2) there was no difference in a significant locus of control between students with the social economic status of bottom, middle and high, Keywords: Locus of Control,
