Abstract
Berdasarkan hasil pra penelitian diperoleh data bahwa kurangnya motivasi belajar siswa. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memperoleh informasi mengenai motivasi belajar siswa sebelum dan sesudah penerapan Reward dan Punishment dalam kompetensi dasar mencatat transaksi dokumen ke dalam jurnal umum. Metode yang digunakan adalah quasi eksperiment dengan desain one-group pretest-posttest design. Penelitian ini dilakukan pada kelas XI IPS D tahun ajaran 2013/ 2014. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah kelas XI IPS, sedangkan sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas XI IPS D yang berjumlah 40 orang dengan teknik purposive sampling. Data motivasi belajar siswa melalui penyebaran angket. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan tingkat motivasi belajar siswa dalam pelajaran akuntansi meningkat dari kategori sedang ke tinggi. Hal ini didukung dengan hasil uji hipotesis bahwa dari hasil perhitungan dimana diperoleh t_hitung sebesar 2,696 dan t_tabel sebesar 1,9941 yang memperlihatkan bahwa t_hitung ≥ t_tabel , hal ini menunjukkan adanya perbedaan motivasi belajar siswa sebelum dan sesudah perlakuan (treatment) Reward dan Punishment pada kelas eksperimen. Pembelajaran dengan menggunakan Reward dan Punishment dapat dijadikan sebagai salah satu alternatif teknik pembelajaran bagi para guru Akuntansi untuk diimplementasikan dalam pengembangan pembelajaran Akuntansi di kelas, terutama untuk meningkatkan motivasi belajar siswa, sehingga seluruh siswa dapat mencapai prestasi belajar siswa yang optimal. Kata kunci : reward dan punishment, motivasi belajar siswa. Pre-observation data result shows that students have lack of learning motivation. This research is aimed to gain the information concerning students’ learning motivation through the implementation of reward and punishment in recording transaction document into general journal as the standard competition. The method used in this research is a quasi-experimental with one group pretest-posttest design. This research has been done at XI IPS D batch 2013/2014. Furthermore the population of this research is social science students grade XI, while the sample is 40 students of XI IPS D which has been selected by purposive sampling technique. Questionnaire is used to gather the data related to students’ learning motivation. The result shows that there is an increase level of students’ learning motivation in accounting subject from low to high category. The result is supported by the calculation of hypothesis testing with tobt = 2,696 and tcrit=1,9941 it means t_obt ≥ t_crit , in other words, there is an improvement of students’ learning motivation towards the implementation of reward and punishment treatment in the sample class. Reward and Punishment is able to be an alternative technique for Accounting teacher to be implemented in their teaching process, particularly to enhance students’ motivation in order to achieve their optimal performance in learning process.
