Abstract

Rendahnya keterampilan menulis siswa sekolah dasar dikarenakan (1) ketidaksesuaian tema menulis dengan minat siswa; (2) pembelajaran menulis yang struktural; (3) minimnya kosakata; (4) teknik penilaian menulis yang belum tepat. Masalah dalam menulis sangat berpengaruh pada kemampuan siswa yang lain. Hal ini disebabkan banyak penilaian di sekolah sampai universitas mengandalkan keterampilan menulis. Oleh sebab itu, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengujicobakan pengaruh model experiential learning dengan teknik peer correction terhadap keterampilan menulis narasi ekspositoris siswa kelas IV. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuasi eksperimen dengan nonequivalent control group design. Oleh karenanya, teknik pengambilan sampel tidak dilakukan secara random. Sampel penelitian ialah siswa kelas IV di salah satu sekolah dasar Kecamatan Karangpucung. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan tes menulis narasi ekspositoris. Sementara itu, validitas data menggunakan validitas isi yang divalidasi oleh dosen ahli. Analisis data menggunakan uji normalitas dan uji mann whitney dengan taraf signifikansi 0,05. Analisis data dilakukan melalui program SPSS 20 for windows. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa keterampilan menulis siswa meningkat setelah memperoleh perlakuan. Peningkatan terjadi pada setiap aspek yang meliputi aspek isi, unsur bahasa, dan ejaan. Sementara itu, pengujian statistik menunjukkan hasil yang lebih kecil dari taraf signifikansi sehingga H0 ditolak. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian tersebut, maka peneliti menyimpulkan bahwa model experiential learning dengan teknik peer correction berpengaruh terhadap keterampilan menulis narasi ekspositoris siswa kelas IV. The low level of writing skills of primary school students is due to (1) incompatibility of the writing theme with student interests; (2) structural writing learning; (3) less vocabularies ;(4) improper writing scoring techniques. Problems in writing are very influential on students’ other skills. This is due to many assessments in schools until the university relies on writing skills. Therefore, this study aims to test the influence of experiential learning model with peer correction technique on writing expository narrative skill in fourth grader. This study used quasi experimental method with nonequivalent control group design. Therefore, the sampling technique was not done randomly. The sample of the research was the fourth grade students in one of the primary schools in Karangpucung Sub-District. In term of data collection techniques, this study used narrative expository writing test. Meanwhile, to investigate the validity of data, this study used validity of content validated by expert lecturers. In analysing data, this study used normality test and mann whitney Test with significance level 0,05. Data analysis was done through SPSS 20 for windows program. The result showed that students' writing skills increased after receiving the treatment. Improvement occurs in aspects that includes content aspects, language styles, and spelling. Meanwhile, statistical tests showed result that was smaller than the level of significance so that H0 was rejected. Based on the results of this research, it can be concluded that experiential learning model with peer correction technique has an effect on writing expository narrative skill in fourth grader.
