Abstract

Permasalahan dalam penelitian ini yaitu masih rendahnya kemampuan memecahkan masalah siswa. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui pengaruh penerapan metode problem solving terhadap kemampuan memecahkan masalah siswa pada mata pelajaran ekonomi dengan materi perdagangan internasional. Subjek dalam penelitian ini yaitu siswa kelas XI IPS SMAN 1 Cianjur. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuasi eksperimen dengan nonequivalent pretest-posttest control group design. Instrumen penelitian yang digunakan berupa tes berbentuk uraian. Uji hipotesis dalam penelitian ini menggunakan uji t. Hasil penelitian menunjukan: Terjadi peningkatan kemampuan memecahkan masalah siswa kelas eksperimen dengan N-Gain sebesar 0,33 pada kategori sedang dan N-Gain kelas kontrol sebesar 0,13 pada kategori rendah; Terdapat perbedaan kemampuan memecahkan masalah siswa kelas eksperimen sebelum dan setelah diberikan perlakuan dengan menggunakan metode problem solving pada materi perdagangan internsional; Terdapat perbedaan peningkatan kemampuan memecahkan masalah siswa antara kelas eksperimen yang menggunakan metode problem solving dan kelas kontrol yang menggunakan metode ceramah. Kata Kunci: Kemampuan memecahkan masalah, problem solving The main problem in this research the low of students problem solve skills; The purpose of this research is to determine the effect of problem solving method to student problem solve skills economics subject. The subject in this research were the students of XI IPS class at SMAN 1 Cianjur. The research method is a quasi-experimental method with nonequivalent pretest-posttest control group design by using description test as the instrumental research.The hypothesis test in this research used t tests. Based on test results were: An increase of students problem solve skills in experiment class with N-Gain 0,33 on the middle category and N-Gain in the control class 0,13 on the low category; Students had different skills of problem solve in experiment class before and after treatment with problem solving method of international trades topic; There was different increase of students problem solve skills between experiment class that use problem solving method with control class that use konventional method.
