Abstract
Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh adanya permasalahan yaitu rendahnya pemahaman siswa dalam operasi Hitung khususnya operasi perkalian di kelas III C di SDN SK Bandung masih banyak nilai siswa yang dibawah KKM. Secara umum penelitian ini bertujuan mendeskripsikan penerapan matematika realistik untuk meningkatkan pemahaman siswa dalam operasi hitung dengan menerapkan pendekatan Matematika Realistik. Desain penelitian yang digunakan oleh penelti adalah metode ini Peneltian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) dengan menggunakan model Kemmis & Taggart yang terdiri dari empat tahapan yaitu : perencanaan, pelaksanaan, observasi dan refleksi. Keempat tahapan penelitian tersebut dilaksanakan dalam dua siklus. Subjek penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas III C di salah satu SDN yang terletak Kota Bandung. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan pendekatan matematika realistik dapat meningkatkan pemahaman siswa dalam operasi hitung yang dibuktikan dengan kenaikan presentase ketuntasan belajar pada setiap siklusnya, presentas ketuntasan belajar siswa mengalami peningkatan. Pada siklus I diperoleh nilai ketuntasan siswa sebesar 67% jumlah 20 siswa yang memenuhi KKM, dan siklus II diperoleh nilai ketuntasan sebesar 93% dengan jumlah 28 siswa yang memenuhi KKM. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini yaitu pendekatan matematika realistik dapat meningkatkan pemahaman siswa dalam operasi hitung kelas III Sekolah Dasar. Kata kunci : Pendekatan Matematika Realistik, pemahaman siswa, operasi hitung This research is motivated by the problem of low comprehension of students in Counting operations, especially multiplication operations in class III C in SDN SK Bandung, there are still many students under KKM. In general, this study aims to describe the application of realistic mathematics to improve students' understanding in counting operations by applying the approach of Realistic Mathematics. The research design used by penelti is this method of Classroom Action Research (PTK) using Kemmis & Taggart model consisting of four stages: planning, implementation, observation and reflection. The four stages of the study were conducted in two cycles. The subject of this research is the students of class III C in one of the SDN located Bandung. The results showed that the application of realistic mathematical approach can improve students' understanding in counting operations as evidenced by the increase of percentage of learning mastery in each cycle, student learning completeness presentation has increased. In the first cycle obtained by the students mastery score of 67% the number of 20 students who meet the KKM, and cycle II obtained 93% completeness score with the number of 28 students who meet the KKM. The conclusion of this research is realistic mathematics approach can improve students' understanding in class III elementary school operation.
