Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya hasil belajar dalam mata pelajaran matematika pada sebuah SD di kota Bandung. Ini terjadi dikarenakan minimnya penggunaan pendekatan pembelajaran yang digunakan guru dalam pembelajaran. Untuk dapat mengatasi hal tersebut, salah satu pendekatan yang digunakan dalam penelitian yaitu Realistic Mathematics Education (RME). Tujuan dari penelitian ini yaitu untuk mengetahui proses dan peningkatan hasil belajar siswa kelas III SD dengan menggunakan pendekatan RME. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan karena melihat rendahnya hasil belajar pada mata pelajaran matematika. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu Penelitian Tindakan Kelas dengan model spiral dari Kemmis dan Mc Taggart. Partisipan dalam penelitian ini merupakan siswa kelas III yang berjumlah 33 orang. Hasil temuan yang didapat oleh peneliti dengan menerapkan pendekatan RME pada proses pembelajarannya menemukan hal lain yang dapat dikembangkan dalam karakteristiknya yaitu pemanfaatan hasil konstruksi peserta didik lebih didapat saat siswa berkelompok supaya lebih efektif karena dapat mengurangi miskonsepsi dan menunjukan peningkatan pada setiap siklusnya. Pada pra siklus nilai rata-rata yang diperoleh yaitu 55, siklusI yaitu 68, dan siklusII yaitu 85. Dan persentase ketuntasan pada pra siklus mencapai 39%, siklusI yaitu 67%, dan siklusII yaitu 93%. Dengan demikian, maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa penerapan pendekatan RME dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar di kelas III SD. Rekomendasi pada penelitian ini ditujukan untuk guru dalam meningkatkan hasil belajar dengan menggunakan pendekatan RME.;---This research is motivated by low learning outcomes in mathematics subjects in an elementary school in Bandung. This happens because of the lack of use of the approaches that teachers use in learning. To overcome this problem, one approach that used in this research is Realistic Mathematics Education. The purpose of this research is to know the process of learning and improvement of learning outcomes in mathematics learning in elementary school by using Realistic Mathematics Education approach. This study was conducted because of the low learning outcomes in mathematics subjects. The method used in this research is Classroom Action Research with spiral model from Kemmis and Mc Taggart. The participants in this research are 33 students of grade three. The findings obtained by the researchers by applying Realistic Mathematics Education approach on the learning process to find other things that can be developed in the characteristics of the use of students construction results obtained when students in groups to be more effective because it can reduce misconceptions and showed improvement in each cycle. In the pre cycle the average value obtained is 55, in the first cycle is 68, and in the second cycle is 85. And the percentage of completeness in the pre cycle reaches 39%, in the first cycle is 67%, and in the second cycle is 93%. Thus, it can be concluded that the application of Realistic Mathematics Education approach in mathematics subjects in elementary school can improve learning outcomes. The recommendations in this research are intended for teachers in improving learning outcomes by using Realistic Mathematics Education approach.
