    Abstract

    This study means to describe ethnobotany and conservation of indigenous villagers in Kampung Adat Kuta, Ciamis in exploitizing food plants. The method used in this research is descriptive with purposive sampling. There are 30 subjects that utilize food plants in Kampung Adat Kuta, Ciamis. Data were obtained from semi-structured interviews, direct observation and research documentation. From the data of the research, 99 species consisting of 45 family, 30 ordo and 3 classis types of food plants are utilized by the people of Kampung Adat Kuta, the plant organ that used are tubers, rhizomes, stems, leaves, leaf meat, flower stalk, flower, fruit and seeds. Of the 10 types of the plant organs that have the highest percentage is fruit (48,7%) and the lowest percentage is leaf meat (0,9%). Each type of food plant has its own utility, like lalap, fruits, vegetables, spices and herbs, processed foods, processed drinks and staple foods. The highest percentage of fruit (28,8%) and the lowest percentage of staple food (0,8%). The way of processing the plants are eaten directly, peeled skin, thinly sliced, processed, dried, crushed and boiled. As well as community conservation efforts are replanting, the plants using "anjungan" and using natural fertilizers. ----------
    Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan studi etnobotani dan upaya konservasi masyarakat kampung adat Kuta Kabupaten Ciamis dalam memanfaatkan tumbuhan pangan. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah deskriptif dengan teknik penentuan subjeknya yaitu purposive sampling. Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah 30 narasumber yang memanfaatkan tumbuhan pangan di Kampung Adat Kuta Kabupaten Ciamis. Data diperoleh dari wawancara semi-terstruktur, observasi langsung dan dokumentasi penelitian. Data hasil penelitian didapatkan 99 jenis yang terdiri dari 47 familia, 31 ordo dan 3 classis tumbuhan pangan yang dimanfaatkan oleh masyarakat Kampung Adat Kuta dengan bagian tumbuhan yang digunakan yaitu umbi, rimpang, batang, daun, daging daun, tangkai perbungaan, tangkai bunga, bunga, buah dan biji. Berdasarkan 10 jenis bagian tumbuhan tersebut yang memiliki nilai persentase tertinggi yaitu bagian buah (48,7%) dan nilai persentase terendah yaitu bagian daging daun (0,9%). Setiap jenis tumbuhan pangan memiliki kegunaannya masing-masing yaitu lalap, buah, sayur, rempah dan bumbu, makanan olahan, minuman olahan dan makanan pokok. Dari kegunaan tersebut yang memiliki nilai persentase tertinggi yaitu buah (28,8%) dan nilai persentase terendah yaitu makanan pokok (0,8%). Cara pengolahan tumbuhannya yaitu dimakan langsung, dikupas kulitnya, diiris tipis, diolah, dikeringkan, digerus dan direbus. Upaya konservasi masyarakat kampung Adat Kuta yaitu penanaman ulang, tumbuhan digunakan “anjungan” dan penggunaan pupuk alami.
