Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh pentingnya kemampuan abstraksi matematis siswa dan fakta rendahnya kemampuan abstraksi matematis siswa. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk membandingkan peningkatan kemampuan abstraksi matematis siswa yang memperoleh pembelajaran generatif dan siswa yang memperoleh pembelajaran konvensional dengan metode ekspositori serta mengetahui sikap siswa terhadap pembelajaran generatif dan konvensional. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode kuasi eksperimen dengan desain nonequivalent control group design. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas VIII di salah satu Sekolah Menengah Pertama Negeri di Lembang, Kabupaten Bandung Barat. Sedangkan sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah dua kelas dari populasi tersebut. Data penelitian diperoleh melalui tes kemampuan abstraksi matematis siswa, angket, dan lembar observasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa (1) peningkatan kemampuan abstraksi matematis siswa yang mendapatkan pembelajaran generatif lebih tinggi daripada siswa yang mendapatkan pembelajaran konvensional; (2) sikap siswa terhadap pembelajaran generatif termasuk kriteria cukup baik; (3) sikap siswa terhadap pembelajaran konvensional termasuk kriteria cukup baik. ;--- This research was distributed by the importance of mathematical abstraction ability‘s students and the fact the low ability students on mathematical abstraction. The purpose of this study was to compare the mathematical abstraction ability improvement of students who obtain generative learning and students who obtain the conventional learning with expository method, also to find out the attitude of the students towards the generative learning and conventional learning. Quasi experimental design with nonequivalent control group design was used as the methods in this research. The population in this research is the entire 8th grade students in one Junior High School in Lembang, West Bandung regency. While the sample in this research are the two classes of the population. Data of this research was obtained by tests of mathematical abstraction ability of the students, questionnaire , and the observation paper. The results of this research showed that (1) the enhancement ability of mathematical abstraction of students who get a lesson with generative learning higher than students who get a lesson conventional learning ; (2) the students attitude towards generative learning is good enough; (3) the students attitude towards the conventional learning is quite well.
