Abstract
Skripsi ini berjudul Kontribusi Pondok Pesantren Ulumuddin Terhadap Perkembangan Pendidikan Formal di Kecamatan Susukan Kabupaten Cirebon Tahun 2000-2016. Dengan rumusan masalah (1) Bagaimana latar belakang terbentuknya sekolah formal yang didirikan oleh Yayasan Pesantren Ulumuddin?; (2) Bagaimana perkembangan lembaga pendidikan formal yang didirikan oleh Yayasan Pesantren Ulumuddin?; (3) Bagaimana upaya yang dilakukan pengelola Yayasan Pesantren Ulumuddin dalam meningkatkan mutu pendidikan formal di Kecamatan Susukan?. Metode penelitian yang digunakan yaitu berdasarkan metode historis atau berdasarkan penelitian sejarah yang meliputi Heuristik, Kritik, Interpretasi dan Historiografi. Pendekatan yang digunakan dalam penulisan skripsi ini menggunakan pendekatan interdisipliner dengan menggunakan konsep dari ilmu geografi, ilmu sosiologi, ilmu budaya dan ilmu statistik. Konsep yang diambil dari ilmu geografi pembuatan peta berdasarkan wilayah, konsep sosiologi yang diambil adalah perubahan sosial, konsep budaya adalah etnis dan ilmu statistik yang berdasarkan angka. Penulis mengangkat tema pendidikan formal yang diselenggarakan oleh yayasan pesantren karena hal ini menjadi suatu fenomena modernisasi dalam pendidikan pesantren. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa latar belakang berdirinya pendidikan formal yang telah dilangsung Pesantren Ulumuddin berasaskan kepada kebutuhan masyarakat akan sarana dan prasana pendidikan formal, berawal dari sistem pendidikan pesantren salafi (tradisonal) berdasarkan perkembangan zaman berubah menjadi sistem pendidikan pesantren khalafi (modern) bukan hanya mengajarkan pendidikan agama tetapi juga pengetahuan umum. Perkembangan pendidikan formal dimulai dengan didirikannya madrasah pada tahun 1967 yang kemudian dilanjutkan oleh generasi berikutnya pada tahun 2000 dengan membentuk YAKPI (Yayasan Kesejahteraan Pendidikan Islam Ulumuddin) dibentuk pertama kali sekolah jenjang SMP, pada tahun 2002 SD dan TK, tahun 2004 SMA, tahun 2007 SMK, 2008 MTS, 2010 MA, 2016 SMK 2 Ulumuddin. Peningkatan mutu pendidikan formal yang telah dilangsungkan dengan cara meningkatkan sarana prasarana, SDM tenaga pengajar sebagai pelaksana utama pendidikan, menanamkan sikap disiplin dan rajin kepada seluruh warga sekolah, turut serta aktif dalam mengikuti perlombaan dan kerjasama berupa seminar, MGMP dan yang lainnya. ;---The title of this paper is Kontribusi Pondok Pesantren Ulumuddin Terhadap Perkembangan Pendidikan Formal di Kecamatan Susukan Kabupaten Cirebon Tahun 2000-2016, with the key research questions: (1) What is the background of establishment of formal school by Ulumudin Islamic Boarding School? (2) How is the development of formal institution established by Ulumudin Islamic Boarding School Foundation? (3) What effort made by the foundation managers on behalf to increase the quality of formal education in Susukan? This thesis is using a historical method, or based on the historical research including Heuristic, Criticism, Interpretation, and Historiograpy. Approach used in this study is interdisciplinary, with using some concepts from geography, sociology, cultural concept, and statistic. Geographical concept is used in the making of the region based map, social changes concept from the sociology, ethnic from cultural concept, and statistical concept for the numerical. Author brought up the theme of formal education held by an Islamic boarding school foundation because this matter is becoming a phenomenon of modernization within the educational system at Islamic boarding school. The result from this study shows that the background of the establishment of formal education by Ulumudin Islamic Boarding School Foundation is based on the needs from the society for a formal education facility, begins with the traditional system (salafi), transforming into a more sophisticated system (khalafi) to pace with the current development which not only teach the islamic education but also the general knowledge. The development of formal education begins with the establishment of an Islamic school (madrasah) in 1967, and the continued with the establishment of YAKPI and a junior high school in 2000, kindergarten and elementary school was built in 2002, senior high school in 2004, vocational senior high school in 2007, islamic junior high school in 2008, Islamic senior high school in 2010, and another vocational senior high school in 2016. The development of the quality of formal education which already done by increasing the facility, human resources of the teachers as the main practitioner, embed the discipline and diligently for all the school member, actively participating in the events and hold collaboration for seminar, MGMP, and etc.
