Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menentukan apakah terdapat: (1) perbedaan pencapaian kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis antara siswa yang memperoleh pembelajaran Model Eliciting Activities (MEAs) dan siswa yang memperoleh pembelajaran Problem Based Learning (PBL); (2) perbedaan pencapaian kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis antara siswa yang memiliki gaya kognitif field dependent (FD) dan field independent (FI); (3) pengaruh interaksi antara model pembelajaran dan gaya kognitif terhadap pencapaian kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian eksperimen kuasi dengan desain faktorial tipe 2 × 2. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas VII salah satu SMP N di Rembang tahun ajaran 2016/2017. Dipilih dua kelas secara purposive sampling sebagai sampel penelitian, yaitu kelas VII 4 sebanyak 31 siswa sebagai kelompok eksperimen 1 yang diberi pembelajaran MEAs dan kelas VII 5 sebanyak 32 siswa sebagai kelompok eksperimen 2 yang diberi pembelajaran PBL. Teknik yang digunakan untuk mengumpulkan data dalam penelitian ini adalah (1) memberikan GEFT; (2) memberikan postes kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis; dan (3) mengobservasi aktivitas guru dan siswa. Analisis hasil postes menggunakan uji Anova dua jalur. Adapun hasil penelitian yang diperoleh adalah (1) terdapat perbedaan pencapaian kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis antara siswa yang memperoleh pembelajaran MEAs dan siswa yang memperoleh pembelajaran PBL; (2) terdapat perbedaan pencapaian kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis antara siswa yang mempunyai gaya kognitif FD dan FI; dan (3) tidak tedapat pengaruh interaksi antara model pembelajaran dan gaya kognitif terhadap pencapaian kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis. ;--- The objective of this study is to determine: (1) are there any differences in achievement of mathematical problem solving ability between students who get learning Model Eliciting Activities (MEAs) and those get Problem Based Learning (PBL); (2) are there any differences in achievement of mathematical problem solving ability between students who have field dependent cognitive style (FD) and those field independent cognitive style (FI); (3) are there an interaction effect between learning model and cognitive style toward mathematical problem solving ability achievement. This study used quasi experimental method with 2×2 factorial design. The population in this study was all students of class VII one of SMP N in Rembang, academic year 2016/2017. Two classes were selected by purposive sampling as a research sample, namely class VII 4 with 31 students as experimental group 1 treated with MEAs and class VII 5 with 32 students as experiment group 2 treated with PBL. Data collection techniques of this research were: giving GEFT, giving postest mathematical problem solving ability, and observe teacher and student activity. The postest data was analized under two ways anova test. The research results are (1) there are any differences in achievement of mathematical problem solving ability between students who get learning MEAs and those get PBL; (2) there are any differences in achievement of mathematical problem solving ability between students who have FD and FI cognitive style; (3) there are no interaction effect between learning model and cognitive style toward mathematical problem solving ability achievement.
