Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh kurangnya kemampuan siswa dalam pembelajaran menyimak, khususnya pembelajaran menyimak cerita pendek. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan: (1) kemampuan menyimak cerita pendek siswa kelas IX-A SMPN 1 Kutawaluya tahun ajaran 2016/2017 sebelum menggunakan model pembelajaran scramble; (2) kemampuan menyimak cerita pendek siswa kelas IX-A SMPN 1 Kutawaluya tahun ajaran 2016/2017 setelah menggunakan model pembelajaran scramble; dan (3) perbedaan kemampuan menyimak cerita pendek siswa kelas IX-A SMPN 1 Kutawaluya tahun ajaran 2016/2017 antara sebelum dan setelah menggunakan model pembelajaran scramble. Metode yang digunakan yaitu studi kuasi eksperimen, dengan desain one group pretest posttest design. Sumber data dalam panalungtikan ini yaitu siswa kelas IX-A SMPN 1 Kutawaluya tahun pelajaran 2016/2017. Instrumen yang digunakan untuk mengumpulkan data yaitu tes melengkapi. Data yang diperoleh dianalisis menggunakan analisis t test. Berdasarkan hasil penelitan, rata-rata pretest siswa yaitu 74, ada 10 siswa atau 28% yang sudah mencapai nilai ≥ 79, sedangkan rata-rata posttest siswa yaitu 91, ada 33 siswa atau 92% yang sudah mencapai nilai ≥ 79. Setelah dilakukan analisis menggunakan t test, diperoleh harga thitung (13,56) > ttabel (2,46), itu berarti hipotesis alternatif (Ha) diterima, sedangkan hipotesis nol (H0) ditolak. Jadi, bisa disimpulkan bahwa adanya perbedaan kemampuan menyimak cerita pendek siswa kelas IX-A SMPN 1 Kutawaluya tahun ajaran 2016/2017 sebelum dan setelah menggunakan model pembelajaran scramble. Kata Kunci: model pembelajaran, scramble, menyimak cerita pendek. This research is based on the lack ability of the student in listening learning, especially a short story listening. This research is purposed to describe: (1) a competence of short story listening of the students class IX-A SMPN 1 Kutawaluya academic year 2016/2017 before using scramble model; (2) a competence of short story listening of the student class IX-A SMPN 1 Kutawaluya academic year 2016/2017 after using scramble model; and (3) a competence of a short story listening of the students class IX-A SMPN 1 Kutawaluya academic year 2016/2017 before and after using scramble model. The method that use in this research is experimental quasi study with one group pretest and posstest design. The source of data in this research is student class IX-A SMPN 1 Kutawaluya academic year 2016/2017. The instrument of collecting data in this research used completion test instrument. After collecting it, data was analyzed using t test analysis. Based on this research, the level average of pretest was 74, there are 10 student or 28% which are reach the value is ≥ 79, while a level average of posttest was 91, there are 33 student or 92% which reach the value is ≥ 79. After of t test analysis, the result of thitung (13,56) > ttabel (2,46), it mean the alternative hypothesis (Ha) be accepted, while the zero hypothesis (H0) was rejected. So, was concluded that being difference of listening a short story competence of the student class IX-A SMPN 1 Kutawaluya academic year 2016/2017 before and after using scramble model.
