Abstract

Permasalahan penelitian ini adalah menurunnya tingkat kompetensi siswa SMK Negeri 1 Kota Ternate. Hal ini diduga dipengaruhi oleh tingkat kompetensi profesional dan efektivitas praktek kerja industri. Pendekatan penelitian yang digunakan adalah pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode survey, dengan teknik sampling yang digunakan adalah probabilitas sampling. Teknik analisis data menggunakan model regresi berganda untuk menganilisis pengaruh kompetensi profesional guru dan efektivitas praktek kerja industri terhadap tingkat kompetensi siswa. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tingkat kompetensi profesional guru dan efektivitas praktek kerja industri dipersepsikan tinggi oleh siswa SMK Negeri 1 Kota Ternate. Sementara tingkat kompetensi siswa SMK Negeri 1 Kota Ternate yang ditunjukkan oleh nilai uji kompetensi siswa berada di atas kriteria ketuntasan minimal (KKM), dan terdapat pengaruh kompetensi professional guru dan efektivitas praktek kerja industri terhadap tingkat kompetensi siswa kelas XII SMK Negeri 1 Kota Ternate. Pencapaian kompetensi siswa dapat ditingkatkan dengan meningkatkan kompetensi profesional guru dan efektivitas praktek kerja industri. Hal ini dapat dilakukan dengan mengikutsertakan guru dalam kegiatan-kegiatan seminar, diskusi, maupun pelatihan-pelatihan guna meningkatkan profesionalisme guru. Disamping itu, dapat juga dilakukan dengan melibatkan Industri (DU/DI) dalam merancang materi pelajaran agar tidak terjadi kesenjangan antara materi disekolah dengan praktek di lapangan. Kata Kunci: Kompetensi Siswa, Kompetensi Profesional Guru, dan Efektivitas Praktek Kerja Industri The research problem of this study is the decrease of student competence achievement of SMKN 1 Ternate City. This is supposed influenced by professional competence and effectiveness of industrial working practice. The approach of this study which is used is quantitative approach by survey method, and sampling technique which is used is sampling probability. Data analysis technique use double regression model to analyse the influence of teachers’ professional competence and the effectiveness of industrial working practice toward students’ competence achievement. The result of study show that teachers’ professional competence and effectiveness of industrial working practice is perceived high by students of SMKN 1 Ternate City. Whereas the competence achievement of students of SMKN 1 Ternate City which is shown by test mark of student competence is above the minimal completeness criteria. Teachers’ professional competence and effectiveness of Industrial Working Practice as predictor of students’ competency achievement. The achievement of student competency can be enhanced by enhancing teachers’ professional competence and effectiveness of industrial working practice. This can be done by involving teachers in seminar, discussion activities and also trainings in order to enhance teacher professionalism. In addition, it can be done by involving Industry (DU/DI) in designing lesson material in order that gap between material in school and practice in field not occurred.
