Abstract

Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di salah satu SDN di Kota Bandung, dengan subjek penelitian siswa kelas IV yang berjumlah 31 orang. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk (1) mendeskripsikan proses pembelajaran dengan menerapkan model pembelajaran SAVI untuk meningkatkan keterampilan berbicara siswa kelas IV SD; (2) mendeskripsikan peningkatan keterampilan berbicara siswa kelas IV SD dalam pembelajaran dengan menerapkan model pembelajaran SAVI. Pelaksanaan penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya keterampilan siswa dalam berbicara. Berdasarkan data awal diketahui bahwa sebagian besar siswa masih tersendat-sendat dalam mengucapkan kalimat atau menjelaskan isi pokok pembicaraan dengan perolehan ketuntasan keterampilan berbicara siswa sebesar 23,30%. Maka dilakukan penelitian tindakan kelas dengan mengadaptasi model penelitian Kemmis dan Mc Taggart sebanyak dua siklus. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya peningkatan keterampilan berbicara siswa dengan menerapkan model pembelajaran SAVI. Presentase ketercapaian dari kelima indikator keterampilan berbicara, diantaranya lafal pada siklus I sebesar 71,1 %, pada siklus II meningkat menjadi 74,1%. Lalu, pilihan kata pada siklus I sebesar 63,3%, pada siklus II meningkat menjadi 87,6%. Selanjutnya,struktur kalimat, pada siklus I sebesar 68,9%, pada siklus II meningkat menjadi 92,6%. Selanjutnya, kefasihan pada siklus I sebesar 62,2%, pada siklus II meningkat menjadi 82,7%. Kemudian, isi pembicaraan pada siklus I sebesar 75,6%, pada siklus II meningkat menjadi 96,3%. Berdasarkan data tersebut, dapat disimpulkan bahwa model pembelajaran SAVI dapat meningkatkan keterampilan berbicara siswa kelas IV Sekolah Dasar.;---This research was conducted in one of the SDN in Bandung, with the subject of the fourth grade of students who amounted to 31 people. This study aims to (1) describe the learning process by applying SAVI learning model to improve the speaking skill of fourth grade students of elementary school; (2) to describe the improvement of students' speaking skill in grade IV of elementary school by using SAVI instruction model. The implementation of this research is motivated by the low skills of students in speaking. Based on preliminary data, it is known that most of students are still stuttering in uttering sentences or explaining the content of the subject with the acquisition of students' speaking skill 23,30%. Then do classroom action research by adapting research model Kemmis and Mc Taggart as much as two cycle. The results showed an increase in students' speaking skills by applying the SAVI learning model. Percentage of achievement of the five indicators of speaking skills, including the pronunciation of the first cycle of 71.1%, in the second cycle increased to 74.1%. Then, the choice of words in the first cycle of 63.3%, in the second cycle increased to 87.6%. Furthermore, the structure of the sentence, in the first cycle of 68.9%, in the second cycle increased to 92.6%. Furthermore, the eloquence of the first cycle of 62.2%, in the second cycle increased to 82.7%. Then, the content of the discussion in the first cycle of 75.6%, in the second cycle increased to 96.3%. Based on the data, it can be concluded that the SAVI learning model can improve the speaking skill of fourth grade students of elementary school.
