Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi apakah terdapat hubungan antara
perceived social support dan regulasi emosi pada penderita hipertensi di Kota
Bandung. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah penduduk Kota Bandung yang
didiagnosis memiliki hipertensi. Responden penelitian berjumlah 102 orang
penderita hipertensi di Kota Bandung. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan
kuantitatif dengan metode korelasional. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan
metode kuisioner menggunakan instrumen Multidimensional Scale of Perceived
Social Support (MSPSS) dan instrumen hasil modifikasi dari Difficulties in
Emotion Regulation Scale (DERS). Hipotesis dalam penelitian ini adalah terdapat
hubungan antara perceived social support dan regulasi emosi pada penderita
hipertensi di Kota Bandung. Berdasarkan hasil uji korelasi menggunakan analisis
spearman’s rho, didapatkan hasil bahwa terdapat hubungan positif sebesar 0,460
antara perceived social support dan regulasi emosi pada penderita hipertensi di
Kota Bandung. Hal ini dapat diartikan bahwa semakin tinggi perceived social
support pada penderita hipertensi, maka semakin mampu mereka dalam
meregulasi emosinya. Adapun gambaran terhadap perceived social support dan
regulasi emosi pada penderita hipertensi di Kota Bandung berada dalam kategori
tinggi.----------This research aims to idetify whether there is relation between perceived social
support and emotion regulation in people with hypertension in Bandung.
Population in this research is citizens of Bandung that have been diagnosed with
hypertension. This research is using 102 participants with hypertension. Approach
that used in this research is quantitative research with correlational research
methods. Instruments that used in this reseach are Multidimensional Scale of
Perceived Social Support (MSPSS) and modified instrument from Difficulties in
Emotion Regulation Scale (DERS). The hypothesis of this research is “there is
relationshiop between perceived social support and emotion regulation in people
with hypertension in Bandung”. Based on correlation test using spearman’s rho
analysis, the result of this research shows that there is positive correlation between
perceived social support and emotion regulation in people with hypertension in
Bandung, with number of correlation coefficient is 0,460. This means that the
higher perceived social support people with hypertension have, the more they able
to regulate their emotions. The result also shows that perceived social support and
emotion regulation in people with hypertension are in high category.
