Abstract
Permasalahan dalam penelitian ini, masih banyak anak-anak dari keluarga buruh tani tidak meneruskan sekolah ke jenjang lanjut SMA sederajat, Sementara di desa tersebut sudah didirikan SMK supaya mempermudah seluruh warga masyarakat untuk meneruskan sekolah anaknya. Peneliti melihat kondisi tersebut dari segi peran keluarga dalam memotivasi anak untuk meneruskan pendidikan lanjut. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui kondisi sosial ekonomi keluarga buruh tani, faktor yang mempengaruhi keluarga dalam memotivasi anak untuk meneruskan pendidikan lanjut, serta upaya yang dilakukan keluarga dalam memotivasi anak untuk meneruskan pendidikan lanjut. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode deskriptif. Pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini mengunakan teknik observasi partisipan, wawancara mendalam, serta studi dokumentasi. Objek penelitian ini adalah keluarga buruh tani sebagai informan pokok dan tokoh masyarakat serta aparatur pemerintahan desa sebagai informan pangkal. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukan ; (1) kondisi sosial keluarga buruh tani cukup interaktif dalam lingkungan masyarakatnya, serta sering berpartisipasi dalam kegiatan masyarakat. Kehidupan ekonomi keluarga cukup untuk memenuhi kebutuhan dasar seperti makan. Kondisi tempat tinggal masih termasuk rumah layak huni. Mata pencaharian keluarga bergantung pada pekerjaan sebagai buruh tani. (2) Faktor yang mempengaruhi keluarga dalam memotivasi anak untuk melanjutkan sekolah yaitu ; tingkat pendidikan masih rendah, kondisi ekonomi hanya cukup memenuhi kebutuhan dasar minimal, pandangan keluarga terhadap pendidikan masih bersifat ortodoks, pengaruh kondisi lingkungan masyarakat, serta minimnya informasi tentang sekolah. (3) Upaya yang dilakukan keluarga meliputi ; motivasi langsung pada anak, memperhatikan kebutuhan penunjang sekolah, meminta bantuan orang lain, serta kontrol pergaulan. Kata kunci : Keluarga Buruh Tani, Motivasi, Anak, Pendidikan Lanjut The problems in this research, there are still many children from farm workers family didn’t forward the the equivalent of high school, while in the village has been established vocational high school in order to simplify whole society to continue their children’s school. Researchers looked at these conditions of the family’s role in motivating shildren to continue education. The purpose of this research is to know the socio-economic conditions of farm worker family, the factors that affect families in motivating children to pursue further education, as well as the efforts of families in motivating children to continue their further educations. This research used the qualitative approach with a descriptive method. The collection of data in this research use techniques of participants observation, deep interview, and documentation study. The object of this research are farm workers families as principal informants and community leaders and the village officials as informant base. The results of this research indicate; (1) the social conditions of farm worker family enough interactive in society and often participate in social activities. The family economic life enough to meet basic needs like eating. The Living conditions still includes the livable home. The family's livelihood depends on jobs as farm workers (2) factors affecting the family in motivating children to resume school, that is ; level of education is still low, the economic conditions just enough meets the basic needs of at least, view of the family to education is still overwhelmingly Orthodox, environmental conditions influence society, and the lack of information about the school.
