Abstract

Penelitian ini berlatar belakang permasalahan sulitnya siswa mempelajari pelajaran bahasa asing seperti bahasa Inggris, Jerman, Perancis, Mandarin, Jepang, Arab dan lainnya di Indonesia. Salah satu penyebabnya adalah rendahnya motivasi belajar siswa, karena itu diperlukan metode pembelajaran yang inovatif untuk meningkatkan motivasi belajar siswa. Berdasarkan latar belakang tersebut, penelitian ini di tujukan untuk mengetahui “apakah terdapat hubungan yang positif dan signifikan antara persepi penggunaan aplikasi Babbel German sebagai media pembelajaran dengan motivasi belajar siswa pada pelajaran bahasa Jerman?”. Secara lebih khusus rumusan masalah terdiri dari “apakah terdapat hubungan yang positif dan signifikan antara persepsi penggunaan aplikasi Babbel German sebagai media pembelajaran dengan motivasi belajar siswa pada aspek attention, relevance, confidence, dan satisfaction pada pelajaran bahasa Jerman?”. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode studi deskriptif korelasional dengan pendekatan kuantitatif dan instrumen yang digunakan berupa angket dengan jumlah sampel sebanyak 32 orang. Berdasarkan kesimpulan umum dalam penelitian ini, menunjukkan bahwa terdapat hubungan yang positif dan signifikan antara persepsi penggunaan aplikasi Babbel German sebagai media pembelajaran dengan motivasi belajar bahasa Jerman terutama pada aspek relevance, confidence, dan satisfaction. ;---The background of the research covers Indonesian students’ difficulties in learning foreign languages such as English, German, French, Mandarin, Japanese, Arabic, and other languages. One of the reasons is the lack of students’ motivation to learn. Therefore, an innovative teaching method is needed to improve such motivation. Based on the aforementioned background, this research aims to find out whether there is a positive and significant relationship between the perceptual use of “Babbel German” as the teaching media and students’ motivation to learn German. In particular, the formulation of the research problem includes whether there is any positive and significant relationship between the use of “Babbel German” as the teaching media and students’ motivation on the aspect of attention, relevance, confidence, and satisfaction in German subject. This research uses descriptive correlational method with quantitative approach and the instrument used is questionnaire including 32 people as the sample. The result of the research shows that there is a positive and significant relationship between the perceptual use of “Babbel German” app as the teaching media and students’ motivation in learning German especially on the aspects of relevance, confidence, and satisfaction
