    Abstract

    Karya ilmiah ini fokus membahas mengenai makanan tradisional berbahan dasar Jagung, yang saat ini keberadaannya sudah jarang ditemukan khususnya di Desa Bayongbong Kecamatan Bayongbong Kabupaten Garut Jawa Barat, makanan tardisional ini terkenal dengan sebutan Urab Jagung. Makanan tradisional ini memiliki sifat yang mengenyangkan sama seperti beras. Selain rasa yang enak dan gurih, Urab Jagung memiliki kandungan karbohidrat yang baik bagus untuk kesehatan.
    Dengan melihat keadaan saat ini yang mudah menemukan Jagung, seharusnya bisa memanfaatkan bahan dasar pangan lokal yang mudah di produksi dan tumbuh subur di setiap daerah. Agar sumber daya alam yang berlimpah tetap bisa diolah oleh masyarakat dan masyarakat bisa meningkatkan kesejahteraan kehidupannya dari hasil sumber daya alam yang ada.
    Makanan tradisional ini juga memiliki cerita tersendiri bagi masyarakat Desa Bayongbong pada saat itu, sehingga akan sangat disayangkan jika makanan tradisional ini hilang.
    Oleh karena itu, peran pemerintah sangat diperlukan dalam upaya pelestarian makanan Urab Jagung, namun pentingnya kesadaran masyarakat pun harus diperhatikan agar makanna tradisional ini masih bisa di lestarikan.,--The research is focused on discus about traditional food which is based corn, it is called Urab Jagung and it rarely foun in Bayongbong subdistrict Bayongbong district Garut Province Jawa Barat now. This is traditional food have a good taste and has a property glut Such as rice. Urab jagung which is based on corn has a good potensial became it can grow in every weather and every year. And it is also can be found everywhere.
    There is a lot of nutritions in corn such as carbohydrate. The level of carbohydrat in corn if we compared with rice is the secondly. First rice and the third is casava. This traditional food it also have a story to citizen to Bayongbong village that time. It will be disapointed if this traditional food disapear.
    Therefor, is very important to save a traditional food like Urab Jagung. But the importance of public awareness must be observed that traditional food can still be preserved.
