Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi permasalahan yang terjadi dalam pembelajaran matematika di SD yang meliputi permasalahan siswa dalam menyelesaikan soal cerita, pemahaman bahasa matematis dan mathematical habits of mind. Adapun tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui sejauhmana pengaruh pembelajaran Inquiry Co-operation Model (ICM) terhadap kemampuan menyelesaikan soal cerita, pemahaman bahasa matematis, dan Mathematical Habits of Mind siswa kelas V SD ditinjau dari kemampuan awal matematis (KAM), status dan kategori sekolah. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian campuran dengan desain Embedded Mixed Methods. Populasi dalam penelitian ini yaitu siswa kelas V SD di Kota Bandung. Instrumen yang digunakan meliputi tes kemampuan menyelesaikan soal cerita, tes pemahaman bahasa matematis, angket Mathematical Habits of Mind, pedoman observasi dan dokumentasi. Data kuantitatif yang diperoleh dianalis dengan SPSS 19, sedangkan data kualitatif menggunakan teknik Miles & Huberman. Adapun Hasil dalam penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa peningkatan kemampuan menyelesaikan soal cerita, pemahaman bahasa matematis, serta Mathematical Habits of Mind siswa yang memperoleh pembelajaran ICM lebih tinggi daripada siswa yang memperoleh pembelajaran langsung. Penelitian juga menunjukkan kecenderungan tidak ada interaksi antara model pembelajaran,kategori KAM, status dan kategori sekolah terhadap peningkatan kemampuan menyelesaikan soal cerita, pemahaman bahasa matematis, serta Mathematical Habits of Mind. Rekomendasi dalam penelitian ini menekankan pembelajaran ICM sebagai salah satu alternatif model pembelajaran yang mampu memberikan manfaat dan stimulasi yang baik terhadap kemampuan siswa sekolah dasar dalam pembelajaran matematika, terutama dengan didukung penggunaan media yang sesuai dengan tahapan perkembangan kognitif siswa di Sekolah Dasar.;--- This study is back grounded by the problem occurred in mathematics learning in Elementary School which comprise problems encountered by students in solving word problem, mathematical language understanding and mathematical habits of mind. As for the aim of this study is to find out to what extent the influence of Inquiry Co-operation Model learning on ability in solving word problem, mathematical language understanding, and Mathematical Habits of Mind of 5th grade students viewed from mathematical initial knowledge (MIA), status and category of school. This study is mixed research with Embedded Mixes Methods. Population in this study are 5th grade students of Elementary School from four sub-districts in Bandung City. The instrument used in this study comprise ability in solving word problem test, mathematical language understanding test, Mathematical Habits of Mind questionnaire, observation manual and documentary. Quantitative data obtained is analyzed by SPPS 19, whereas qualitative data use Miles & Huberman technique. The result of study showed that enhancement of ability in solving word problem, mathematical language understanding and Mathematical Habits of Mind of students who receive ICM learning is higher than students who receive direct learning. This study also showed the tendency that there is no interaction between learning model, category of MIA, status and category of school toward enhancement of ability in solving word problem, mathematical language understanding, and Mathematical Habits of Mind. The recommendation of this study is to emphasize ICM learning as one alternative of learning model which capable to give benefit and good stimulation to elementary school students’ ability in mathematics learning particularly which is supported by the use of media which is suitable with students’ cognitive development stage in elementary school.
