Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi dari keresahan peneliti tentang metode yang digunakan guru saat mengajar masih didominasi dengan ceramah (narrative technique) dimana guru menjelaskan secara rinci materi pelajaran kepada siswa, sehingga siswa cenderung memaknai pelajaran Pendidikan Kewarganegaraan hanya sebagai pengetahuan yang berupa perangkat fakta-fakta yang harus dihapal. Penelitian ini secara umum bertujuan mendeskripsikan penggunaan media animasi berbasis nilai dan implikasinya terhadap perubahan karakter siswa di kelas XI SMA Negeri 2 Palangka Raya. Penelitian dilandasi teori karakter dari Lickona tentang Character matters dan Educating For Character, teori tentang media dari Sudjana dan Rivai tentang Media Pengajaran, dan tentang pembelajaran civic education dari Amerika (Branson). Proses penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode eksperiment kuasi. Populasi penelitian adalah siswa SMA Negeri 2 Palangka Raya yang terdiri dari dua kelas yaitu kelas XI IPA II sebagai kelas kontrol dan kelas XI IPA IV sebagai kelas eksperimen dengan jumlah masing-masing siswa di kelas sebanyak 39 orang. Terhadap ke dua kelompok diberikan test pengetahuan siswa dan lembar observasi siswa. Secara umum hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan hasil belajar siswa antara kelas yang menggunakan media animasi berbasis nilai dengan yang tanpa media. Perbedaan hasil belajar itu karena adanya perbedaan nilai sebesar 31,35 antara kelas eksperimen dengan kelas kontrol, serta adanya peningkatan nilai sebesar 40,73 di kelas eksperimen dari pretest ke postest. Rekomendasi yang dapat diberikan yakni : Kegiatan eksperimen tersebut juga untuk meningkatkan kemampuan sebagai menjadi inovator yang akan menciptakan suatu inovasi pembelajaran dalam rangka meningkatkan kualitas belajar siswa. Serta Fasilitas pembelajaran perlu ditingkatkan agar tercipta pembelajaran yang memadai. This research is motivated from concerns about the research methods used by teachers when teaching was dominated by lectures (narrative technique) where the teacher explains in detail the subject matter to students, so that students tended to interpret the Citizenship Education lessons just as knowledge in the form of the facts that must be memorized. This study aims to describe the general use of media-based animation values and their implications for changes in the character of students in class XI Senior High School 2 Palangka Raya. The research is based on theories about the character of Lickona Character matters and Educating For Character, theories of media and Rival Sudjana on Media Teaching and learning about civic education of America (Branson). Research process using a quantitative approach with quasi-experimental methods. The study population was a high school student School 2 Palangkaraya, which consists of two classes, namely class XI Science II as a control class IV and class XI science experiment as a class by the number of students in each class were 39 people. Against both groups were given tests students' knowledge and student observation sheet. In general, the results of this study indicate that there are differences between classroom learning outcomes of students who use media with a value-based animation without media. Differences in learning outcomes was due to the different value of 31.35 between the experimental class to control the class, as well as an increase in value of 40.73 in the experimental class from pretest to posttest. Recommendations can be given that: Activities such experiments as well as to improve the ability to be innovators who will create a learning innovation in order to improve the quality of student learning. As well as learning facilities need to be improved in order to create an adequate learning.
