Abstract
Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh keadaan bangsa Indonesia yang dihadapkan pada berbagai masalah sosial yang cukup memprihatinkan. Salah satu institusi yang bertanggung jawab dalam menyelesaikan permasalahan ini adalah institusi sekolah. Dalam pembelajarannya sekolah dapat menanamkan keterampilan sosial yang sangat diperlukan oleh peserta didik dalam hidup bermasyarakat, berbangsa dan bernegara, ini semua dapat dilaksanakan terutama dalam pembelajaran IPS. Salah satu solusi alternatif untuk meningkatkan keterampilan sosial yakni dengan menggunakan metode Cooperative Learning tipe STAD dan TGT. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penggunaan metode pembelajaran kooperatif tipe STAD dan tipe TGT terhadap keterampilan sosial peserta didik. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah quasi-eksperimen dengan desain penelitian Nonequivalent Control Group Design. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh peserta didik kelas VII di SMPN 4 Tarogong Kidul, dengan sampel tiga kelas yaitu Kelas VII I (kelas eksperimen I), Kelas VII H (kelas eksperimen II), dan Kelas VII G (kelas kontrol). Pengolahan dan analisis data dalam penelitian ini meliputi uji normalitas, uji homogenitas, uji hipotesis dengan menggunakan Univariate Analysis of Variance dan uji paired sample t test. Hasil penelitian : Tidak terdapat perbedaan keterampilan sosial peserta didik pada kedua kelas eksperimen (STAD dan TGT) sebelum perlakuan, tidak terdapat perbedaan keterampilan sosial peserta didik antara kelas eksperimen (STAD) dan kelas kontrol sebelum perlakuan, tidak terdapat perbedaan keterampilan sosial peserta didik antara kelas eksperimen (TGT) dan kelas kontrol sebelum perlakuan, peningkatan nilai rata-rata skor keterampilan sosial peserta didik sebelum dan sesudah perlakuan paling tinggi yaitu kelas eksperimen II (TGT), tidak terdapat perbedaan keterampilan sosial peserta didik antara kelas eksperimen (STAD) dan kelas eksperimen (TGT) sesudah perlakuan, terdapat perbedaan keterampilan sosial antara kelas eksperimen (STAD) dan kelas kontrol sesudah perlakuan, terdapat perbedaan keterampilan sosial peserta didik antara kelas eksperimen (TGT) dan kelas kontrol sesudah perlakuan. Hasil observasi akhir menunjukkan untuk kedua kelas eksperimen (STAD dan TGT) bernilai 4 (sangat baik) untuk subindikator mengikuti petunujuk dan subindikator lainnya bernialai 3 (baik), lebih tinggi dibanding kelas kontrol yang cenderung nilainya bervariasi. Dengan demikian penggunaan metode pembelajaran kooperatif tipe STAD dan TGT berpengaruh terhadap keterampilan sosial peserta didik. Kata kunci : Model Pembelajaran Kooperatif, Metode STAD, Metode TGT, Keterampilan Sosial, Peserta Didik This research is motivated by the Indonesian nation state is faced with a social problem that is quite alarming as brawls, vandalism, lack of discipline, lack of empathy, conflict between groups, and less effective in communicating. One of the institutions that are responsible in resolving this problem is the school institution. In school learning to instill social skills that are needed by the students in the life of society, nation and state, this can all be done, especially in social studies learning. One alternative solution to improve social skills, is using the cooperative learning method type STAD and TGT. This research aimed to determine the effect of the use of cooperative learning methods types STAD and TGT to social skills of students. The method used in this research is quasi-experimental with research design Nonequivalent Control Group Design. The population in this research were all students of class VII at SMP 4 Tarogong Kidul, with three samples of the class that is Class VII I (experimental class I), Class VII H (experimental class II), and Class VII G (control class). Processing and data analysis in this research includes tests of normality, homogeneity test, test hypotheses using Univariate Analysis of Variance and paired samples t test. RESULTS: There were no differences in the social skills of students in both class of experiments (STAD and TGT) before treatment , there were no differences in social skills students between the experimental class (STAD) and a control class before treatment, there were no differences in social skills students between the experimental class (TGT) and a control class before treatment, an increase in the average score of the social skills of students before and after treatment of the highest of the experimental class II (TGT) , there is no difference in social skills students between experiment class (STAD) and experimental class ( TGT ) after treatment, there are differences in social skills students between the experimental class (STAD) and a control class after the treatment, there are differences in social skills students between the experimental class (TGT) and a control class after treatment. End of the observation results show for the both class of experiments (STAD and TGT) is worth 4 (very good) for the sub-indicators and sub-indicators follow other instructions worth 3 ( good ), higher than the control class values tend to vary.
