Abstract
Keberadaan industri anyaman rotan di Kecamatan Sindangwangi semakin berkurang dan mengalami berbagai hambatan, padahal potensi yang dimiliki cukup besar jika dikembangkan menjadi sentra industri anyaman rotan di Kabupaten Majalengka, mengingat hanya pada lokasi inilah industri anyaman rotan berada. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi (1) eksistensi industri anyaman rotan, (2) pengaruh adanya eksistensi industri terhadap kondisi sosial ekonomi, (3) upaya pengrajin untuk meningkatkan hasil produksi, (4) peran serta pemerintah daerah dalam mendukung perkembangan industri anyaman rotan, dan (5) strategi pemasaran industri anyaman rotan. Metode yang digunakan yaitu metode deskriptif. Populasinya yaitu populasi manusia yang seluruh penduduknya terikat/yang terlibat di industri anyaman rotan. Pengambilan sampel yaitu menggunakan teknik pengambilan proporsi atau sampel imbangan (proportional sampel). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa keberadaan industri anyaman rotan di Kecamatan Sindangwangi tetap dapat bertahan dan bisa menjaga eksistensinya karena motif/alasan pengrajin dan tenaga kerja anyaman rotan yaitu melanjutkan usaha orang tua/turun temurun. Industri ini juga ditunjang oleh faktor produksi yang mendukung diantaranya adalah bahan baku, tenaga kerja, pemasaran serta keterampilan dan penguasaan teknologi. Analisis data menunjukkan bahwa terdapat hubungan antara eksistensi industri anyaman rotan dengan kondisi sosial ekonomi pengrajin dan tenaga kerja. Hal ini dapat dilihat dari pendapatan yang diperoleh, tingginya pendidikan anak dan kepemilikan fasilitas hidup yang dimiliki. ;--- The existence of woven rattan industry in the District Sindangwangi wane and experience a variety of obstacles, but its potential is quite large if it is developed into a woven rattan industry centers in Majalengka, remembering only at this location are woven rattan industry. This study aims to identify (1) the existence of industrial woven rattan, (2) the effect of the existence of the industry to the socio-economic conditions, (3) attempts artisans to increase production, (4) the role of local government in supporting the industrial development of woven rattan, and (5) The marketing strategy of industrial woven rattan. The method used is descriptive method. Its population is a human population with all its inhabitants bound / involved in the wicker industry. Sampling is using retrieval techniques proportion or sample counterpoise (proportional sample). The results showed that the presence of woven rattan industry in the District Sindangwangi can survive and be able to maintain its presence as a motive / reason craftsmen and labor rattan is continuing efforts of parents / hereditary. The industry is also supported by production factors that support them are raw materials, labor, marketing, skills and mastery of technology. Analysis of the data showed that there is a relationship between the existence of woven rattan industry with the socioeconomic conditions of artisans and workers. It can be seen from earned income, high education of children and living facilities owned property.
