Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji pengaruh belajar bermakna melalui model pembelajaran advance organizer terhadap penguasaan konsep siswa kelas XI pada materi sistem ekskresi dan untuk mmengkaji respon siswa terhadap kegiatan pembelajaran yang telah dilakukan. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah Quasy Experimental dengan desain Non-Randomized Control Group Pretest-Posttest Design. Subjek penelitian yang digunakan adalah siswa SMA kelas XI IPA, pengambilan sampel mengunakan teknik cluster random sampling. Hasil uji statistik menunjukkan nilai signifikansi data pretest sebesar 0,874 artinya penguasaan konsep awal kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol tidak berbeda secara signifikan dan nilai signifikansi data posttest sebesar 0,000 artinya peningkatan penguasaan konsep siswa kelas eksperimen lebih baik daripada kelas kontrol. Kualitas peningkatan penguasaan konsep setelah pembelajaran pada kelas kontrol tergolong kriteria rendah dengan nilai 0,29, sementara pada kelas eksperimen tergolong kriteria sedang dengan nilai 0,56. Berdasarkan persentase respon siswa yang diperoleh melalui angket, diketahui bahwa kelas kontrol menunjukkan respon negatif pada beberapa aspek, sedangkan kelas eksperimen rata-rata menunjukkan respon positif. Berdasarkan hal tersebut, dapat ditarik kesimpulan bahwa terdapat pengaruh belajar bermakna melalui model pembelajaran advance organizer terhadap penguasaan konsep siswa kelas XI pada materi sistem ekskresi. Kata kunci:Belajar Bermakna, Model Pembelajaran Advance Organizer, Penguasaan Konsep, Sistem Ekskresi The Purpose of this research was to assess the effect of meaningful learning through learning models advance organizer for student class XI toward concept mastery of excretory system and assess the students' responses in learning activities. This research was implemented by Quasy Experimental methods with Non-Randomized Pretest-Posttest Control Group Design. The students of science class XI in secondary school was choosen by cluster random sampling technique. Statistical test results showed there was significant value for pretest data is 0.874 it means there was no significant different between initial concept mastery experimental class and the control class and significant value for posttest data is 0.000 it means that increase students' concept mastery experimental class are better than the control class. The quality of concept mastery in control class has relatively low criterion with value of 0.29, while at the experimental class has medium criteria with value of 0.52. Percentage of students’ responses were obtained through questionnaire, the response of control classes showed negative responses in some aspects, while the response of the experimental class showed positive response. Based on this, it can be concluded that there are effect of meaningful learning through models advance organizer for class XI student toward concept mastery of excretory system.
