Abstract

Perkembangan Kota Bekasi saat ini membuat keberadaaan masyarakat etnis Betawi Bekasi sudah sangat sulit untuk dijumpai di tengah kota. Masyarakat etnis Betawi Bekasi sekarang lebih banyak bermukim di pinggiran Kota Bekasi. Meskipun secara kuantitas keberadaan masyarakat etnis Betawi Bekasi semakin berkurang, namun kepatuhan mereka untuk menjaga kearifan lokal masih dilakukan. Salah satu kearifan lokal yang masih dapat dijumpai ialah gotong royong dalam berbagai kegiatan di masyarakat. Gotong royong dalam penyelenggaraan kegiatan masyarakat etnis Betawi Bekasi dikenal dengan istilah paketan. Berdasarkan permasalahan yang ada, penelitian ini meneliti mengenai bagaimana makna sosial paketan sebagai bentuk kearifan lokal bagi masyarakat?; Bagaimana faktor-faktor yang melatar belakangi paketan dapat bertahan hingga saat ini?; Dan bagaimana faktor–faktor hambatan yang dihadapi masyarakat dalam mempertahankan paketan sebagai kearifan lokal etnis Betawi Bekasi?. Pendekatan penelitian yang digunakan adalah dengan metode kualitatif. Sedangkan jenis penelitian yang digunakan yaitu penelitian studi kasus. Berdasarkan hasil temuan dan analisis, makna sosial paketan berupa makna budaya dan makna sosiologis. Paketaan masih bertahan hingga saat ini, karena terdapat beberapa faktor yang mendukung kebertahanan paketan sebagai kearifan lokal masyarakat etnis Betawi Bekasi, yaitu: (a) Adanya partisipasi masyarakat; (b) Adanya kerjasama; dan (c) Adanya rasa kepercayaan dalam masyarakat. Sedangkan faktor–faktor hambatan yang dihadapi masyarakat dalam mempertahankan paketan sebagai kearifan lokal etnis Betawi Bekasi yaitu: (a) Sikap praktis; (b) Kurangnya sosialisasi orangtua kepada anak; (c) Pengaruh modernisasi dan globalisasi; dan (d) Pengaruh budaya masyarakat pendatang. ;---- The development of Bekasi City today made public the existence of ethnic Betawi Bekasi have been very difficult to be found in the city center. Bekasi Betawi ethnic communities are now more settled on the edges of Bekasi. Although the quantity of the existence of the ethnic Betawi Bekasi on the wane, but their adherence to maintaining local wisdom still do. One of the local wisdom that can still be found is of mutual cooperation in various activities in the community. Mutual cooperation in organizing community activities Betawi Bekasi known as paketan. Based on the existing problems, this study was to investigate how social meanings paketan as a form of local wisdom for the community ?; How factors that background paketan can survive until today ?; And how factors - factors barriers people face in maintaining paketan as local wisdom ethnic Betawi Bekasi? The research approach uses qualitative research methode. While the types of research used is a case study. Based on the findings and analysis, paketan in the form of social meaning and cultural significance sociological meaning. Paketan still survive today, because there are several factors that support the survival paketan as local wisdom ethnic Betawi Bekasi, namely: (a) The existence of community participation; (b) The existence of co-operation; and (c) The existence of a sense of trust in society. While the factors - factors barriers people face in maintaining paketan as local wisdom ethnic Betawi Bekasi, namely: (a) practical attitude; (b) Lack of socialization parent to child; (c) Effect of modernization and globalization; and (d) The influence of culture immigrant communities.
