Abstract
Penelitian dilatarbelakangi oleh keberagaman budaya yang ada di sekolah dan masih kurangnya kemampuan penyesuaian budaya siswa. Salah satu upaya dalam mengembangkan penyesuaian budaya siswa adalah dengan menggunakan bimbingan sosial. Penelitian bertujuan menghasilkan bimbingan sosial yang efektif untuk mengembangkan penyesuaian budaya siswa. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode pra eksperimen dan desain one group pretest-posttest design di SMA Taruna Bakti Bandung. Pengumpulan data menggunakan alat ukur berupa instrumen penyesuaian budaya. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan secara empirik, perlakuan berupa bimbingan sosial teruji efektif dalam mengembangkan penyesuaian budaya siswa. Rekomendasi hasil penelitian ditujukan untuk pengembangan teori dan praktik Bimbingan dan Konseling di SMA.;--- The background of the research was based on cultural diversity at school and students’ lack ability to adapt culturally. One of the ways to develop the students’ ability to adapt culturally was by using social guidance. The research was aimed to test the effectiveness of social guidance to develop students’ cultural adjustment. This research used quantitative approach with pre experimental study and one group pretest-posttest design on SMA Taruna Bakti Bandung students. Data collection used cultural adjustment instrument. The result of the research empirically showed that social guidance was effective in developing students’ cultural adjustment. The research recommendation was aimed to developing the theory and practice of guidance and counseling in high school.
