Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk (1) mendeskripsikan kemampuan menulis karangan narasi bahasa Perancis mahasiswa semester III Departemen Pendidikan Bahasa Perancis FPBS UPI sebelum dan sesudah menggunakan media film pendek; (2) menguji tingkat efektivitas penggunaan media film pendek dalam pembelajaran menulis karangan narasi bahasa Perancis; dan (3) menginformasikan tanggapan mahasiswa terhadap penggunaan media film pendek dalam pembelajaran menulis karangan narasi bahasa Perancis. Metode penelitian yang digunakan yaitu pra eksperimental dengan desain One Group Pre-test Post-test. Yang dijadikan sampel dalam penelitian ini yakni karakteristik kemampuan menulis karangan narasi bahasa Perancis dari 35 orang mahasiswa semester III Departemen Pendidikan Bahasa Perancis FPBS UPI Tahun Akademik 2016/2017. Ada pun instrumen yang digunakan adalah tes dan angket. Hasil analisis data menunjukkan bahwa nilai rata-rata prates mahasiswa sebesar 8,28, sedangkan nilai rata-rata pascates sebesar 10,64, sehingga terdapat selisih nilai sebesar 2,39. Hal ini menunjukkan adanya peningkatan kemampuan menulis karangan narasi bahasa Perancis mahasiswa sebelum dan sesudah penggunaan media film pendek. Dari hasil analisis data statistik diperoleh nilai ttabel sebesar 2,72 dan thitung sebesar 7,12 dengan menggunakan taraf signifikasi 1% dan derajat kebebasan 34. Maka, hipotesis kerja diterima. Dengan demikian, penggunaan media film pendek efektif untuk meningkatkan kemampuan menulis karangan narasi bahasa Perancis. Berdasarkan hasil analisis angket, peneliti dapat menyimpulkan bahwa media film pendek dapat meningkatkan kemampuan menulis karangan narasi bahasa Perancis mahasiswa. Oleh karena itu, peneliti menyarankan media film pendek dapat dijadikan sebagai salah satu media pembelajaran alternatif guna meningkatkan kemampuan menulis karangan narasi bahasa Perancis. This study is aim to (1) describe French narrative writing skill of the third semester student of French education department of FPBS UPI before and after the exposure of short movie; (2) testing the effectivity of using short movie as a media in learning French narrative writing skill; (3) Providing information regarding the students' response towards the usage of short movie as a media in learning French narrative writing skill. This study employs pre-experimental method by using one group pretest and posttest. The subject of this study is the characteristics of 35 third semester students of French education department of FPBS UPI batch 2016/2017. This study using test and questionnaire as the instruments. The result of this study shows that the average score of pretest is 8,28, while the average score of posttest is 10,64. There is a 2,39 gap between the average score of both test. This study suggests that there is an improvement of students' French narrative writing skill before and after the exposure of short movie. From the data analysis process, it is found that the ttable score obtained is 2,72 and tmeasured is 7,12 with 1% significance level and 34 of degree of freedom which means that the working hypothesis is accepted. Thus, it can be concluded that the usage of short movie as a media is effective in enhancing the students' French narrative writing ability. Based on the result, this study suggests that short movie can be used as one of the media to enhance students' French narrative writing skill.
