Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mengidentifikasi strategi kesantunan dalam tindak tutur meminta guru laki-laki dan perempuan dalam interaksi belajar dan mengajar di kelas, serta respon siswa. Penelitian ini bersifat kualitatif, namun didukung oleh kuantifikasi deskriptif. Analisis dilakukan menggunakan parameter dan teori strategi tindak tutur meminta Trosborg (1994), teori strategi kesantunan Brown dan Levinson (1987), dan teori respon Bara (2010). Hasil analisis menunjukkan guru laki-laki paling banyak menggunakan strategi tindak tutur meminta imperatives dibanding guru perempuan. Guru laki-laki lebih menunjukkan otoritasnya sebagai instruktur belajar-mengajar di kelas. Guru perempuan lebih banyak menggunakan strategi tindak tutur meminta hints dibanding guru laki-laki. Guru perempuan lebih indirect dibanding guru laki-laki. Guru laki-laki lebih banyak menggunakan strategi bald on record politeness, cases of non minimization of the face threat dibanding guru perempuan. Guru laki-laki lebih direct dan tanpa basa-basi dibanding guru perempuan dalam melakukan tindak tutur meminta. Siswa lebih banyak merespon preffered (suka) terhadap tindak tutur meminta guru perempuan dibanding terhadap tindak tutur meminta guru laki-laki.;--- The purposes of this study are to identify politeness strategies in request speech acts of man and woman teacher at teaching and learning interactions. Students responses are also identified in this study. This study is a qualitative study supported by a quantitative descriptive. The investigation refers to Trosborg request strategies (1994), Brown and Levinson politeness strategies (1987), and Bara Theory of responses (2010). The results that can be concluded from the findings are man teacher mostly used imperatives request speech act strategy. Man teacher showed his authority as an instructor more than woman teacher at teaching and learning interaction. Woman teacher mostly used hints request speech acts strategies. Woman teacher more indirect than man teacher. Man teacher used bald on record politeness strategy, cases of non minimization of the face threat more than woman teacher. Man teacher more direct and bald on record than woman teacher. Students mostly used preferred responses to woman request speech acts than to man request speech acts.
