Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mengetahui penerapan pendekatan kontekstual pada pembelajaran matematika untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa sekolah dasar. Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi karEna proses pembelajaran yang masih menggunakan metode konvensional atau ceramah, pemahaman siswa yang rendah mengenai materi bangun datar, sehingga mengakibatkan hasil belajar siswa yang rendah khususnya materi bangun datar sederhana. Partisipan dalam penelitian ini adalah kelas III SD di wilayah kecamatan sukajadi yang berjumlah 31 orang. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) yang mengadaptasi model Kemmis & Taggart dengan dua siklus. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini dilakukan dengan beberapa tahapan diantaranya tahapan perencanaan, pelaksanaan, observasi dan refleksi. Perencanaan pembelajaran diawali dengan membuat Rencana Pelaksanaan Pembelajaran serta instrumen penilaian. Pelaksanaan pembelajaran dilakukan dengan penerapan pendekatan kontekstual, yang terdapat tujuh komponen di dalamnya, yaitu konstruktivisme, inkuiri, bertanya, masyarakat belajar, pemodelan, refleksi, dan penilaian sebenarnya. Secara umum pelaksanaan pembelajaran berjalan dengan lancar. Hasil penelitian dengan penerapan pendekatan kontekstual pada pembelajaran matematika menunjukkan adanya peningkatan hasil belajar. Pada siklus I memperoleh nilai rata-rata mencapai 77,9 dengan persentase ketuntasan belajar 67,74% dan siklus II memperoleh nilai rata-rata mencapai 85,9 dengan persentase ketuntasan belajar 90,32%. Adapun, rata-rata peningkatkan hasil belajar berdasarkan gain dari siklus I ke siklus II dikategorikan sedang dengan rata-rata 0,33. Rekomendasi dalam penelitian ini diberikan kepada guru, kepala sekolah, dan peneliti selanjutnya. ;---The purpose of that research is to know the application of contextual approach on mathematic subject can improve learning outcomes of elementary student. This research is motivated by learning process that still use conventional method or lecture, weak understanding about geometric shapes, so the result of the student learning are poor especially on simple geometric shapes subject. The participants on this research were 31 students in 3rd grade of elementary school in Kecamatan Sukajadi. Classroom Action research was used in this research which adopt from 2 cycles Kemmis and Taggart. Based on that method, this research was done with 4 steps which were planning, acting, observing and reflecting. The planning learning was started by making a lesson plan and assessment instrument. The action of the learning was done by implementation of contextual approach which had 7 components such as constructivism, inquiry, questioning, learning communities, modeling, reflection, and authentic assessment. In general, the implementation of learning went smoothly. The results of the study with the application of contextual approach on mathematics subject showed an increase learning outcomes. In the first cycle obtain the average value reached 77.9 with learning completeness percentage of 67.74% and the second cycle obtain the average value reached 85.9 with learning completeness percentage of 90.32%. While, the average increase in learning outcomes based “gain” cycle I to cycle II referd to medium category with an average of 0,33. Recommendations in this study given to teachers, principals, and further research.
