Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh kurangnya kemampuan siswa dalam menyampaikan laporan perjalanan secara lisan. Siswa masih tidak percaya diri untuk menyampaikan laporan di depan kelas karena tidak lancar berbahasa Sunda dengan baik. Adapun tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan (1) kemampuan menyampaikan laporan perjalanan sebelum menggunakan metode mind mapping, (2) kemampuan menyampaikan laporan perjalanan sesudah menggunakan metode mind mapping, (3) meningkatnya kemampuan menyampaikan laporan perjalanan sesudah menggunakan metode mind mapping, (4) bedanya kemampuan menyampaikan laporan perjalanan sebelum dan sesudah menggunakan metode mind mapping. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode kuasi eksperimen, dengan menggunakan desain pretest dan posttest. Sumber data dalam penelitian ini adalah 38 siswa kelas VIII-B SMP Negeri 10 Bandung Tahun Ajaran 2016/2017. Teknik yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah nontes, penilaian bercerita secara lisan. Hasil penelitian ini adalah (1) kemampuan menyampaikan laporan perjalanan sebelum menggunakan metode mind mapping memperoleh rata-rata nilai 64,2; (2) kemampuan menyampaikan laporan perjalanan sesudah menggunakan metode mind mapping memperoleh rata-rata nilai 84,7; (3) ada peningkatan kemampuan menyampaikan laporan perjalanan sesudah menggunakan mind mapping dengan rata-rata nilai tes awal siswa sebesar 64,2 dan rata-rata tes akhir sebesar 84,7; dan (4) ada perbedaan yang signifikan antara kemampuan menyampaikan laporan perjalanan sebelum dan sesudah menggunakan metode mind mapping dibuktikan dengan hasil uji hipotesis t_itung (13,65) > t_tabél (2,42). Yang berarti bahwa dalam taraf kepercayaan 99% hipotesis diterima. Hal ini menunjukan bahwa ada beda yang signifikan antara kemampuan menyampaikan laporan perjalanan sebelum dan sesudah memakai metode mind mapping siswa kelas VIII-B SMP Negeri 10 Bandung Tahun Ajaran 2016/2017 .;---This research is motivated by the lack of students’ ability to orally deliver a study trip report. Students are still not confident enough to deliver a study trip report to the class because of the lack of students’ ability to speak Sundanese fluently. The purpose of this research is to describe (1) students’ ability to deliver a study trip report before using the mind mapping method, (2) students’ ability to deliver a study trip report after using the mind mapping method, (3) the enhancement of students’ ability to deliver a study trip report after using the mind mapping method, (4) the difference between student’s ability to deliver a study trip report before and after using the mind mapping method. The method used in this study is a quasi-experimental method, using a pre-test and post-test design. The sources of data in this research are 38 students of VIII-B grade in SMPN 10 Bandung, year 2016/2017. The technique used in this research are non-test, and marking of story-telling orally. The results of this research are (1) students’ ability to deliver a study trip report before using the mind mapping method obtaining an average score of 64,2; (2) students’ ability to deliver a study trip report after using the mind mapping method obtaining an average score of 84,7; (3) there is an enhancement of student’s ability to deliver a study trip report after using mind mapping method with average initial test score of 64,2 and the average final test score of 84,7; and (4) there is a significant difference between student’s ability to deliver a study trip report before and after using the mind mapping method, which can be seen from the results of hypothesis test of t_arithmetic (13,65) > t_table (2,42). Which means that its credibility hypothesis level of 99% is accepted. All of these results shown that the mind mapping method able to improve students’ ability to deliver a study trip report of VIII-B grade in SMPN 10 Bandung year 2016/2017.
