Abstract
Kabupaten Majalengka merupakan penghasil jagung terbesar kedua di Jawa Barat setelah Kabupaten Garut dengan produksi 119,701 Ton pada tahun 2013. Tanaman jagung hampir tumbuh di seluruh kecamatan di Kabupaten Majalengka namun beragamnya kondisi fisik di Kabupaten Majalengka dan morfologi yang berbeda dari dataran rendah sampai dataran tinggi perlu adanya penataan ruang untuk tanaman jagung sesuai dengan syarat tumbuh tanaman jagung sehingga hasil produksi bisa lebih optimal.Tujuan penelitian adalah menganalisis kesesuaian lahan untuk tanaman jagung dan dimana saja tanaman jagung dapat tumbuh dengan optimal sesuai syarat tumbuh tanaman jagung dengan menggunakan metode Sistem Informasi Geografis, analisis spasial dan pembobotan antar peta parameter. Sebagian besar tingat kesesuain lahan untuk tanamn jagung di Kabupaten Majalengka sangat sesuai sebesar 23% atau 2233 Ha, sesuai 23% atau 2323 Ha, dan tidak sesuai 2324% Atau 1213 Ha. Tingat sangat sesuai tersebar diseluruh Kabupaten Majalengka, tingkat sesuai sebagian besar tersebar di Kecamtan Argapura, Sindang, Rajagaluh, Sindangwangi dan Lemahsugih, daerah yang tidak sesuai untuk tanaman jagung berada pada kecamatan argapura atau di daerah puncak Gunung Ciremai. Perlu adanya penelitian lebih lanjut lagi dengan menggunkan data yang lebih terbaru sehingga tingkat kesesuain lahan tanaman jagung di Kabupaten Majalengka akan lebih rinci lagi.;--- Majalengka Regency is the second largest corn producer in Garut district, West Java after the production of 119.701 tons in 2013. The corn crop is grown in almost all districts in Majalengka but the diversity of physical conditions in Majalengka and morphologically distinct from lowlands to highlands need for arrangement of space to plant maize in accordance with the terms corn plant grows so that production can be optimal. The points of this research are to analyze the suitability of land for corn and where corn can grow optimally in suitanable with the terms corn plants grown by using Geographic Information Systems, spatial analysis and weighting among the map parameter. Most of the rank of the suitability of land for corn crops were in Majalengka very appropriate by 23% or 2233 hectares, as 23% or 2323 hectares, and is not appropriate 2324% or 1213 hectares. The level fits Majalengka scattered throughout the district, appropriate levels mostly in Argapura districts, Sindang districts, Rajagaluh districts, Sindangwangi districts and Lemahsugih districts, while areas that are not suitable for corn crops are in Argapura districts or in the peak area of Mount Ciremai. The need for further research by using more recent data so that the level of land suitability in Majalengka corn crop will be more detail.
