Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan penggunaan microcam dan mikroskop cahaya terhadap keterampilan proses sains dan minat belajar siswa mengenai materi struktur jaringan tumbuhan. Masalah dalam penelitian ini yaitu mengenai ‘bagaimana perbedaan penggunaan microcam dan mikroskop cahaya terhadap keterampilan proses sains dan minat belajar siswa mengenai materi struktur jaringan tumbuhan’. Partisipan terdiri dari 42 siswa kelas XI yang terbagi ke dalam dua kelas dengan dua perlakuan yang berbeda. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah quasy experimental design. Mikroskop cahaya digunakan pada kelas eksperimen 1, sedangkan kelas eksperimen 2 menggunakan microcam selama kegiatan pembelajaran. Soal pretest dan posttest digunakan untuk menilai keterampilan proses sains siswa sebelum dan setelah kegiatan pembelajaran. Angket minat belajar siswa digunakan untuk menilai antusiasme siswa setelah kegiatan pembelajaran. Hasil penelitiannya yaitu persentase rata-rata nilai pretest pada kedua kelas masih < 50%, sedangkan rata-rata nilai posttest pada kedua kelas sama-sama mengalami peningkatan persentase. Rata-rata n-gain pada kelas eksperimen 1 berada pada kategori ‘rendah’, sedangkan pada kelas eksperimen 2 berada pada kategori ‘sedang’. Persentase rata-rata nilai angket minat penggunaan mikroskop cahaya pada kelas eksperimen 1 yaitu 64,7 % dan persentase rata-rata nilai angket minat penggunaan microcam pada kelas eksperimen 2 yaitu 70,2%. Kesimpulan yang dapat diambil dari penelitian ini adalah penggunaan microcam dan mikroskop cahaya selama kegiatan praktikum dapat memberikan perubahan nilai ke arah yang lebih baik terhadap keterampilan proses sains siswa dan membuat siswa tertarik dalam melakukan kegiatan praktikum. This study aimed to describe the use of the light microscope and microcam against the science process skills and student interest in the subject matter of plant tissue structure. The problem in this study is about 'how the different uses of the light microscope and microcam against the science process skills and student interest in the subject matter of plant tissue structures'. Participants consisted of 42 students of class XI is divided into two classes with two different treatments. The method used is quasy experimental design. Light microscopy used in the experimental class 1, while the experimental class 2 uses microcam during the learning activities. Pretest and posttest are used to assess students' science process skills before and after the learning activities. Student interest questionnaire was used to assess students' enthusiasm after learning activities. Research results are the average percentage of the value pretest in both classes was <50%, while the average value of posttest in both classes are equally increased percentage. The average n-gain the experimental class 1 in the category 'low', whereas the experimental class 2 are in the category of 'medium'. The average percentage of the value of the questionnaire interest in the use of light microscopy in the experimental class 1 is 64.7% and the percentage of the average value of interest questionnaire use of microcam in the experimental class 2 is 70.2%. The conclusion that can be drawn from this study is the use microcam and light microscopes for lab activities can provide value changes toward better the science process skills of students and make students interested in performing lab activities.
