Abstract

Masalah yang dikaji dalam penelitian ini adalah rendahnya pemahaman konsep siswa. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mengetahui pengaruh dari penerapan metode Problem Based Learning (PBL) dan metode Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) terhadap pemahaman konsep berdasarkan kemampuan awal siswa pada standar kompetensi memahami konsep ekonomi. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuasi eksperimen dengan desain faktorial 2x2. Penelitian dilakukan pada kelas X Administrasi Perkantoran dengan dua kelas eksperimen yang masing-masing menggunakan metode PBL dan CTL. Kemampuan awal setiap kelas dibagi menjadi dua kategori, yaitu kemampuan awal tinggi dan kemampuan awal rendah. Dalam penelitian ini jenis tes yang digunakan melalui tes posttest saja. Uji hipotesis menggunakan uji anova between subject design. Hasil penelitian menunjukan ada pengaruh metode pembelajaran PBL dan CTL terhadap pemahaman konsep ekonomi. Ada pengaruh kemampuan awal terhadap pemahaman konsep ekonomi. Ada pengaruh dan interaksi penggunaan metode pembelajaran PBL dan CTL terhadap pemahaman konsep ekonomi berdasarkan kemampuan awal siswa. Pemahaman konsep siswa yang memiliki kemampuan awal tinggi lebih tinggi dengan metode CTL lebih tinggi dari penggunaan metode PBL dengan kemampuan awal yang sama. Peningkatan pemahaman konsep siswa dengan kemampuan awal rendah metode PBL maupun CTL tidak berubah secara signifikan. ; Problem Studied in this research is about the lack understanding of the student concept. This research purpose is to see the Problem Based Learning (PBL) and Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) application effect to understanding concept based on the student initial ability on the competition standard of economy concept understanding.This research use Quasi method experiment with 2x2 faktorial design. Research conducted on the tenth grade class of office administration with two experiment class using the PBL and CTL method.The prior knowledge for each class divided into two category,high prior knowledge and low prior knowledge. Reseach test used in these study trough posttest only. Hypothesis testing using the analysis of variance (ANOVA) test between subject design. The result of this research show that there is a PBL and CTL methods influence to understanding of economy concept. There is a prior knowledge influence to economy conceptual understanding. There is an influence and interaction of PBL and CTL uses to understanding of economy concept based on the student prior knowledge. Conceptual understanding of students who have a high prior knowledge prior knowledge became more higher with CTL method more higher from the PBL method uses with the same prior knowledge.Increase student’s the understanding of concepts with low prior knowledge PBL or CTL method has not changed significantly.
