Abstract

Berdasarkan studi pendahuluan yang dilakukan penulis di SLB-BC Aras Kota Cimahi, penulis menemukan kasus pada salah satu siswa tunarungu kelas II SDLB yang mengalami kesulitan dalam mengucapkan kata khususnya kata benda. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh metode mouth training dalam meningkatkan kemampuan mengucapkan kata benda pada siswa tunarungu kelas II SDLB di SLB-BC Aras Kota Cimahi. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode eksperimen Single Subject Research (SSR), pendekatan kuantitatif dengan bentuk desain A-B-A. Berdasarkan hasil dari penelitian terhadap siswa, di peroleh mean level yaitu 45,62% pada baseline 1 (A-1), kemudian meningkat menjadi 76,4% pada intervensi (B) dan meningkat lagi menjadi 91,97% pada baseline 2 (A-2). Dapat disimpulkan bahwa target behavior terjadi peningkatan dalam kemampuan mengucapkan kata benda pada siswa tunarungu. Hal tersebut dibuktikan dengan adanya peningkatan dalam mengucapkan kata benda yang terdiri dari suku kata, kata benda yang mengandung huruf bilabial P di awal, di tengah, di akhir, dan kalimat sederhana yang terdiri dari kata benda. Dengan demikian penggunaan metode mouth training berpengaruh dalam meningkatkan kemampuan mengucapkan kata benda pada siswa tunarungu kelas II SDLB. Dari hasil penelitian ini, peneliti merekomendasikan agar metode mouth training dapat digunakan sebagai salah satu metode di kelas, khususnya dalam pembelajaran artikulasi dan dijadikan bahan pertimbangan oleh pendidik dalam memberikan latihan artikulasi pada siswa tunarungu untuk meningkatkan kemampuan artikulasi bicaranya. ; Based on preliminary studies conducted by author in SLB-BC Aras Cimahi, found a case in 2nd grade deaf student who have trouble pronouncing words, especially nouns. The purpose of this research is to determine the effect of training in improving the methods of mouth ability to pronounce noun for 2nd grade deaf students in SLB-BC Aras Cimahi. The method that this research use is an experimental Single Subject Research (SSR), a quantitative approach to design forms A-B-A. Based on the research to students results, obtained mean level of 45.62% at baseline 1 (A-1), then increased to 76.4% in the intervention (B) and increased to 91.97% at baseline 2 (A-2). It can be concluded that the target behavior gain an increase in ability to pronounce a noun in deaf students. It is proved by the increase in pronouncing words objects made up of syllables, noun containing the bilabials letter P in the beginning, middle, the end, and a simple sentence consisting of a noun. Therefore the use of mouth training method has effect in improving the ability of pronounce noun in 2nd grade deaf students. From this result, author recommend that mouth training methods can be used as one the methods in the classroom, especially in articulation and made learning materials consideration by educators in providing articulation exercises on deaf students to improve articulation of speech.
