Abstract
Penelitian ini dilatar belakangi oleh rendahnya minat siswa dalam mata pelajaran IPS yang pencapaiannya hanya beberapa siswa yang antusias dan serius dalam pelajaran IPS, hal ini disebabkan karena siswa menganggap pelajaran IPS itu sulit. Rendahnya minat bisa dilihat dari dua indikator yaitu keaktifan siswa selama proses belajar mengajar dan hasil belajar yang didapat siswa pada akhir pembelajaran. Indikator keaktifan di antaranya siswa antusias dalam pembelajaran, menjawab pertanyaan yang diajukan guru, mengerjakan tugas yang diberikan oleh guru, dan membuat hasil pekerjaannya di depan kelas. Sementara itu hasil belajar siswa didapat dari tugas dan nilai ulangan hariannya. Di kelas VIII SMP Darul Salam Al Mubarokah Bandung terdapat permasalahan pada pembelajaran IPS. Permasalahan pertama berkaitan dengan indikator keaktifan yaitu pada saat mengerjakan tugas yang diberikan guru, siswa masih menyalin hasil pekerjaannya dari teman yang lebih pintar, sehingga ketika guru mengajukan pertanyaan, mereka tidak mampu menjawab dan membuat hasil pekerjaannya di depan kelas. Sementara itu, permasalahan kedua berkaitan dengan hasil belajar siswa yang terlihat dari hasil pekerjaan siswa yang belum maksimal. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah Penelitian Tindakan Kelas dengan mengadaptasi model Kemmis&Mc Taggart dengan jumlah tiga siklus, Subjek Penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VIII SMP Darul Salam dengan jumlah siswa sebanyak 11 orang. Instrument yang digunakan adalah berupa perfomant test dan bermain peran. Hasil penelitian dengan menggunakan metode Role Playing ditunjukan dengan perencanaan setiap siklusnya yang mengalami perbaikan berdasarkan hasil refleksi dari hasil siklus sebelumnya. Pelaksanaan pembelajaran dengan menggunakan metode Role Playing dapat dilihat dari aktivitas guru dan siswa pada setiap siklusnya yang mengalami peningkatan. Pencapaian hasil minat siswa pada siklus I “Cukup”, siklus II “Baik”, dan siklus III “Sangat Baik”. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian ini, maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa penggunaan metode Role Playing dapat meningkatkan minat dan keaktifan siswa pada pembelajaran IPS. --- This research was motivated by the low interest of students in social studies whose accomplishments only a few students were enthusiastic and serious in social studies, and this is because students of social studies was difficult. Low interest can be seen from the two indicators activity of students during the learning process and learning results can student at the end of the lesson. Indicators liveliness among the students enthusiastic about learning, answering questions of teachers, the task given by the teacher, and make the results of its work to the class. Meanwhile, the results obtained from the student's learning and test scores daily tasks. In class VIII SMP Darul Salam Al Mubarokah Bandung there are problems in social studies learning. The first problem relates to the activity indicators, namely when working on the assignment of teachers, students still copying his work from a friend who is smarter, so when the teacher asked a question, they were not able to answer and make the results of its work to the class. Meanwhile, the second issue related to student learning outcomes are seen from the results of student work that is not maximized. The method be employed in this research is a classroom action research to adapt the model Kemmis & Mc Taggart with number three cycles, this research subject is class VIII SMP Darul Salam with the number of students as many as 11 people. The instrument used was a perfomant test and play a role. The results using the method shown Role Playing with the planning of each cycle is improved based on the results of the reflection of the results of the previous cycle. Implementation of learning by using role playing can be seen from the activities of teachers and students at every cycle is increased. Achievement of the results of the student's interest in the first cycle “Enough”, the second cycle “Good”, and the third cycle “Excellent”. Based on these results, it can be concluded that the use of methods Role Playing increase the interest and involvement of the student in the learning IPS.
