Abstract

Buku teks pelajaran adalah salah satu bentuk bahan ajar yang paling banyak digunakan. Selain itu buku teks berfungsi sebagai pedoman belajar bagi siswa dan pedoman membelajarkan siswa bagi guru pada bidang studi atau mata pelajaran tertentu, dengan tujuan untuk meningkatkan kualitas suatu pembelajaran. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengetahui kelayakan materi reaksi redoks dan elektrokimia pada buku teks pelajaran yang digunakan di sebagian besar SMA/MA di Kota Bandung, berdasarkan tiga kriteria tahap seleksi dari Four Steps Teaching Material Development (4S TMD). Materi yang dianalisis merupakan materi reaksi redoks dan elektrokimia dalam buku teks pelajaran kimia SMA/MA kelas XII (penulis A penerbit B) yang paling banyak digunakan di SMA Negeri se-Kota Bandung. Jenis penelitian adalah penelitian evaluatif. Berdasarkan kriteria pertama yaitu kesesuaian dengan tuntutan kurikulum, diketahui bahwa materi pada buku teks belum sepenuhnya sesuai dengan tuntutan kurikulum 2013. Ditinjau dari segi keluasan materi, secara umum keluasan materi reaksi redoks dan elektrokimia pada buku teks tersebut kurang luas karena terdapat 4 konsep yang dituntut kurikulum tetapi tidak dituliskan pada subjek penelitian. Ditinjau berdasarkan segi kedalaman konsep, 10 konsep dinyatakan kurang dalam. Berdasarkan kriteria kebenaran konsep, terdapat 9 konsep pada materi reaksi redoks dan elektrokimia dalam buku teks tersebut yang belum benar secara keilmuan. Berdasarkan hasil analisis nilai, terdapat 5 nilai yang ditanamkan materi reaksi redoks dan elektrokimia pada subjek penelitian.;---Textbooks is a most widely used form of teaching materials. Besides, textbook serves as a study guide for students and teaching guidelines for teachers in the field of study or a particular subject, with the aim of improving the quality of learning. This study was conducted to determine the feasibility of redox reactions and electrochemical material in the textbooks which is used in most SMA/MA in Kota Bandung based on three criteria of the selection process of Four Steps Teaching Material Development (4S TMD). The analyzed material is redox reactions and electrochemical material in high school chemistry textbooks class XII (author A publisher B), the most widely used book in the Senior High Schools in Bandung. The type of research is evaluative research. Based on the conformity with the demands of the curriculum, the material is not yet fully in accordance with the demands of Kurikulum 2013. Based on the analysis of the width of the material, the redox reaction and electrochemical material is less extensive because there are 4 concepts which is demanded by curriculum but isn’t written by the research subject. Meanwhile, in terms of concepts depth, 10 concepts are less deep. Based on the concepts validity, there are 9 concepts invalid scientifically on the redox reaction and electrochemical material. Based on the analysis of value investment, 5 values is embedded on the redox reaction and electrochemical material.
